| ProjektZero: General Info
|
| Member Since | 10/23/2006 | | Band Members | Well, I'd answer this, but it implies that there's some kind of plurality behind my music, when in reality, it's only me, a teenager pressing buttons. You know that thing they said about monkeys being able to type out a Shakespearean manuscript over time? Well, imagine that, but with one teenager and music instead of words. Let's see if I can't churn out something over a couple of years, eh? | | Influences | ProjektZero highly recommends:
-MC Frontalot
-Shael Riley
-YTCracker
-DJ Pretzel
-Star Salzman
-SGX
-Aerogroove
-Jihnsius
-Jerazik
-Red Rebel

| | Sounds Like | Eight years of "casual gaming" and five years of "gaming addiction" fast forwarded, except instead of playing with a controller and hitting buttons labeled A, B, X, and Y, I now hit buttons labeled A, S, D, and R on a synthesizer.
And I rap, too! | | Record Label | I thought vinyl went out of style years ago. | | Type of Label | Indie |

| About ProjektZero |
|
My AIM SN is DJProjektZero, my MSN is Gryffinheart@fated-circle.com, you can reach me there should you ever feel the need.
I don’t believe much in ego inflation. I am a biology major, minoring in chemistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I hope to one day become a doctor, and serve as the primary care physician to a small rural community under an independent practice center. It is not something that I have wanted to do ever since I was a child, I’m not crazy enough to say that I’ve always dreamed of being a doctor. It was actually something I was inspired into pursuing early in high school thanks to some of my science teachers. I believe it is a mature decision, and not one I take lightly.
Other than that aspect of my life, however, I still feel like a much younger teenager than I really am. I’m quick to laugh, and try to see the brighter side of everything around me. I think it’s my own immaturity that brings out the nerdcore rapper in me. After taking inspiration from places like Flash Flash Revolution, OC ReMix, mc chris, and MC Frontalot, I delved into the world of nerdcore and quickly soaked up as much musical knowledge as I could. I started out making electronica, and began to spread over into nerdcore hip-hop. I started out with a cheap little home-made studio built mostly out of pieces of computers I’d taken from my father, who is a huge tech-head. Still, most of his equipment was outdated, and no, I’m not making a lowblow at my dad’s sex life.
So every few months I’d update my studio, bringing in something new, upgrading computers and microphones. Finally, I took a job as a DJ at a local bar for a summer, and made a couple thousand dollars, which I used to build the studio I have now. I’m quite proud of this studio, it’s a perfect project studio for an amateur artist like myself. Though, for a hobbyist, I’m always looking for the next best thing. The next step up. Whether that’s found in software, musical theory, technique, witty lyricisms, flow and cadence, or hardware. I’ll be the first to admit that I started at the bottom of the ladder, but now I’m coming to understand that I’m not at the bottom anymore. I’m slowly climbing my way up, and I’d like to update this page to reflect that.
As it stands now, I’m working on my debut album, and I’m striving for a professional sound. I’ve been working on this "album" lightly for years now, always hoping to get something done and then getting bogged down by school or else by work. When I get back down to the music, I find that it’s all become so outdated to my style and skill that it’s trash now. But I’m done clearing the slate, it’s time to just take a chance and put down what I’ve got. Hopefully people will appreciate what comes out, and I’m going to give it everything I’ve got. So, stick around, and let’s see what happens.
