Appearances can be deceiving. On the outside Quartered does not look like your typical metal band. This five piece straight out of the suburbs of Vancouver, BC looks just about as metal as one might expect. However, behind this unassuming image is a force of emotion and intensity greatly needed in music today; a band ready and willing to take on the music scene.
“This isn't a band that shrinks into the background. Uncompromisingly serious, deeply-felt lyrics, Rudder and Miller's challenging, complicated beats, Sanft's savagely powerful guitar riffs and hooks, Williams' sometimes screaming but never less than musical vocals combine into a raw-edged, multilayered and emotional whole. That includes hardcore, funk, and alternative,” (Alex Browne - Peace Arch News, October 2007). Described as Progressive or Art Metal, Quartered’s sound is a ballsy, genre defying, tonal embrace of the ears.
With their debut CD, “The Falls of Autumn,” released in 2007 and the follow up 2008 EP “Straight out the Sandbox,” Quartered continues to play and perform all-out intense live shows that amaze and inspire every audience, “...put them on stage - as in their (past) CD release performance at Vancouver’s Media Club - and they’ll win new converts with their sheer impassioned intensity alone,” (Alex Browne - Peace Arch News, October 2007).
With a new CD and tour slated for 2009, Quartered aspires to accomplish and become the new face of Vancouver.

Thanks a lot for the add ! EletriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal.
