I'm David and I organize Redemption Rocks! and other concerts. We help promote any Christian concert in the Willamette Valley and help artists, venues, sound people, churches, groups and just people hook up with each other. We especially like to be involved in concerts that are either free to the public or are benefits for worthy causes, such as the HIV Alliance, Food for Lane County, etc. We do this because we love music and because we beleive that we are put on this earth to care for people and to share what we beleive. If you aren't of the Christian faith, don't worry we still like you and would love to dialogue with you, musically and personally. You have a lot to offer the world. We have a lot to learn from you. Besides, Christianity is based on free choice and there isn't free choice when we don't take the time to understand each other. BTW: David and everyone who organizes Redemption Rocks! Concerts are volunteers, feel free to join us. Redemption Rocks! Concerts is a program of the 1st Baptist Church of Eugene. But, Forget about us. What's important is that God cares about you. And, if you are in Oregon and love crankin' live music or you are a Christian musician, venue, sound dude, band, we just might have a hook up for you. So, check out the friends of Redemption Rocks!, concert postings, become a friend so that you get the concert bulletins and feel free to write me with any questions. Because, you are so worth it!!!! And because, nothin' Rocks harder than Redemption! BTW: Not all of the concerts that we post are presented by Redemption Rocks! Concerts. We are happy to help you get all of the information that we get, but feel free to call up the venue, promoter or organizer and find out more. Also, We really like to hook artists up with venues and such, but we don't always have the opportunity. If you want to contact David outside of myspace or be added to our concert calendar e-mail list send a note to davidevartsii@yahoo.com Also FYI: David and everyone who organizes Redemption Rocks! Concerts are unpaid volunteers. (Don't worry, David's got a day job and an amusing habit of referring to himself in the third person.) Feel free to join us. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Well, it's really not all about us. Let us know who you are listening to. Who do you think really brings it? There are too may great local bands, solo artists and rappers to mention. I mean this is the town that spawned Paul Wright, Matt Kearney and Shawn McDonald in the state that gave the world Kutless, Seven Places, Falling Up, Cadet and who knows how many other amazing musicians with something soul-shaking to say. There's also flyers for coming shows and photos from past Redemption Rocks! shows in my photos page. Check 'em out!
  • Movies

.... Humm, we like movies. What are you watching?
  • Television

    The same goes for television.
  • Books

I'm still groovin' hard on Donald Millers, "Blue Like Jazz...unconventional thoughts on christian spirituality", I also like parts of Rob Bells' "Velvet Elvis. I'm a huge Dostoyesvky fan. The Case for Faith by Lee Stroebel was really thoughtful stuff for people who might like to believe, but have questions. C.S. Lewis rocks esp. "The great Divorce", Randy Alcorn has done some good stuff. "Finding Darwin's God....a scientist's quest for the common ground between God and evolution" by Kenneth Miller is thought provoking and I personally have a fondness reading lots of for history. And, of course the Bible. Read On, Dudes!
  • Heroes

You guys are my heroes! People who face their own errors and the cruelty of the world and choose to deal with it by loving on God and each other. Folks like Ghandi have left us a great legacy. People everywhere who have quietly served and made a difference, People who've suffered for Truth, people who are determined to make someone happy and most of all the only God bigger than anything I can make up and willing to pay for my screw ups!

Who I'd like to meet:

All of You! Geeks, Jocks, fashion victims, scientists writers, old people, kids, muslims, agnostics, musicians, hippies. Really, all of you. But, I doubt I'll ever have time to meet even a fraction of you and besides I can be kind of shy. I guess that's what Heaven is for to actually have time to get to know everyone! I also can't wait to chat with the creator of this amazing universe face to face. I've got lots of questions. I'd also especially like to meet Ghandi, C.S. Lewis, Mother Theresa, Michaelangelo (Though I hear he was pretty grumpy.), Bruce Springsteen, Martin Luther King Jr., a peasent from the middle ages, Peter the apostle, Deitrich Bonhoeffer, Bono, Mac Powell and Sam Gamgee.
