Since 2003 Ted Newsom, whose alias is “The Rose Phantom”, formed the “New-age Darkwave” music project, revideolized.
Working alone with keyboards and synthesizers, The Rose Phantom writes songs that are structured around layers of electronic and synthesized sounds. These sounds create melodies, and eventually finish with a final product that nestles in the genre of electronic and easy listening music.
Over the years, The Rose Phantom has self-recorded, composed, produced, mixed and released four LP’s (“revideolized” 2005, “TheMooNDriveNDark” 2006, “Look-In” 2007, & the latest work “Sounds From The Canyon” 2008). Each album released by revideolized bears different fruit through the use of developing a particular sound and feel that The Rose Phantom has chosen to work with. Over the years, revideolized has continued to progress as different elements have been added to The Rose Phantom’s songwriting.
Whether it’s writing songs that are more dance and synthesizer driven, with sequences and programmed drums, such as songs off the first self-titled album, revideolized. Or, to more organic written songs using other instruments, such as guitars, and hand percussion in songs off TheMoonDrivenDark. Or listen to layered melodies that can take listeners on a journey inside their head through the vast arrangements of sounds off the album Look-In.
The latest work released by The Rose Phantom is his innovative new LP album, titled Sounds From The Canyon. This five track album was recorded on location, in a canyon, where the Phantom has brought a different texture and taste to the sounds of his songs by mixing live nature sounds that the canyon provided with synthesized sounds.
The Rose Phantom takes listeners on a journey through the realms of melodies and sounds that he has created with his project.
Love the photos this guy took at the Festival! (especially the hat!!! HA!) I hope you had a grand and fun time performing there! Sorry, been so god-awfully busy. Just finished a seminar and presentations for that. I promise I will comment on your material soon (it's been written down forever! ;-) -- Do you mind if I also comment on a few vids?)...and I will tell you how the Klaus Schulze book is once I have a chance to read it!!!!!! Ugh!!! Alphaville's 25th anniversary party, I read, will be in Prague on December 16 after they perform a concert there. Take care~ ~Tina
