Sounds like music you haven't heard in a while. Not necessarily in a bad way, but you know how some music has a familiar feel to it that defies time and genre? Well, we're trying to bring that back. Rightfully Accused sounds like rock the way it's supposed to be, loud and infectious. Contagious, even.
Prior to the 1990's, Arena Rock was characterized by competitive
musicianship, catchy songwriting, and vivid showmanship. What has
since changed in the post-grunge era is that modern popular rock
music is now dominated by heavy rhythms and dark and introspective lyrics,
while the virtuosity of yesteryear has since been relegated to jam
bands and big names' progressive side projects. What Denver's
Rightfully Accused brings to the table is the best of both worlds;
real meaning and depth behind upbeat, infectious hooks, driving
rhythm, and upfront walls of guitar, with an explosive and energetic
live show - an honest, inspiring rock sound in a modern context.
Formed in 1998 while the original members were beginning high school,
Rightfully Accused has from the start set out to return straight-
ahead, powerful rock to the forefront of popular music. Entering
Denver's live music scene before any of the members would have
otherwise been permitted on any of the premises, and releasing their
debut album "LA or Bust" (paid for in cash, session by session from
summer job earnings until the project was completed) in 2001,
Rightfully Accused cut their teeth at an early age. Rightfully Accused continued to press on through the following years by releasing new
individual recordings and by performing regularly around the Denver
area and growing their fan base and reputation, expanding their live
performance circuit to include opening for national acts in theaters
and special showcases, in addition to the steadily increasing
rotation of rock clubs and bars in and around Denver.
Rightfully Accused's latest chapter begins by having attained semi-
finalist status in both the Zippo Hot Tour in 2006 and in Denver rock
station KPBI's Best Band in Denver competition in 2006 and again in
2007, the two contests being based entirely on fan voting and live
performances. Rightfully Accused opened 2007 by beginning studio work
on an eleven-song compilation entitled "Ready or Not...", now ready
for release. Also in 2007, Rightfully Accused expanded their reach to
include national exposure: in June, organizing a tour from Denver to
West Virginia culminating in the Rock-It-Fest, gaining national radio
play in the process; and by continuing to embark on small regional
tours, having also obtained regular booking at a number of regional
venues outside of Colorado.
Without overzealous inventiveness or experimentation, yet not
oversimplistic, Rightfully Accused has always - and will always -
draw from familiar aspects of the best of rock music to push modern music
to its limits, and to convey the same sincere emotion that modern
rock audiences are yearning to experience at a live concert. With a unique
sound (think Def Leppard meets Velvet Revolver) and doses of
conviction and authenticity in every aspect of their being, Rightfully
Accused will continue to push boundaries and expectations through 2008 and into the future, welcoming any opportunity to reintroduce new audiences to what they've been waiting to hear.
