Welcome to ye olde myspace page for New York's own folk-rock troubadour, busker, and all around nice fella, Rob Morrison.
When I'm not playing in subway stations across New York, I'm usually working on new tunes and blogging about my subterranean adventures. You can catch some of my updates on my award-winning blog, www.nyorbusk.blogspot.com.
Rob, I had never really heard any of your music other than "What's Up Talking Bicycle," and I've got to say, Drink Me Up is one awesome fucking song. I finally saw Street Team last night and was so happy to hear it in the film. You deserve utmost compliments.
You'd probably be amused by the two songs I wrote for A-Bo (the last feature I did, starring Jake). You can download them here. http://www.interacti.net/gaysongalbum.mp3 http://www.interacti.net/rapv2.mp3
Congrats on the theme song. I read Lloyd Kaufman's book so I'll assume that you won't be getting rich from it. Hopefully the soundtrack album will go platinum.
Alas, you did not see me tonight because I am in western canada for a very quick visit. Will be back tomorrow night. Looking forward to more rockin tunes from you!
Love the new song- very 80's. Now, can we get a Heart cover up here? Hmm? Or maybe, just a recording of you singing "oooh, Baracoooda!" over and over again? Your in Rock,
So, after our hanging out today, I thought I'd give your stuff more of a listen. The first thing I thought about "Drink Me Up" is that it would make a great theme song for a Troma flick, and behold - it is the song for an upcoming Troma flick. Amazing. Amazing. Huge amounts of respect, Rob. Seriously.
i think on your mac page moon is red and stanley steamer are switched. you might want to check the links. i listened to steamer and liked it a bunch. i caught most of the fire and water allusions--sweetness. sounds like the singer fell for someone who wasnt ready to fall in love. insert mixed signals and the singer is ultra confused. the very last line is bitter and i'd have to guess mostly untrue and out of spite. for some reason during the chorus im reminded of this line from alameda--"nobody broke your heart, you broke your own because you cant finish what you start". and the bridge is awesome, but the outro is the best part and ive never heard you go all out like that. you do a great job as always. happy 4 friend.
hey im here chilling with my favorite hipsters other than myself, the strokes. they are working on a new reality show where they place special "strokes-cams" all throughout nyc and spy on people. yeah its pretty sweet. choose your next meal wisely my friend!
on another note, wouldnt a choose your own adventure concept album be cool? like skipping tracks, etc to make it a different experience everytime? maybe you are angry, one night, or sad, or horny, or whatever. all in one album. its probably been done before. fabrizio doesnt seem amused. actually none of the strokes have moved for about 45 minutes. oh, and stop playing with yourself, that scares the bejesus out of nikolai when hes coked out. oh snap, jules says hes gonna sing the next album through a megaphone if i dont get some more weed for the band. ttyl!
