“The Drifter & the Gypsy” is a collection of gentle, country-tinged pop songs”. - Billboard Magazine
“Rosi Golan has packed so much yummy, folk-pop goodness into debut The Drifter & the Gypsy that we are absolutely beside ourselves with glee”. – Performing Songwriter
Rosi Golan is an Israeli born singer songwriter who has made many stops in her travels, including Germany, Paris and finally ending up in Los Angeles at the age of nine. During her travels, she not only managed to hone her infectiously melodic songwriting, but also learned to speak five languages: French, Hungarian, German, Hebrew and English.
Rosi is indeed a long way from home, but certainly in the right place to showcase her unique talent for rich, dark melodies and a voice that not only draws you in, but still haunts you the next day.
Those talents are on full display with her Marshall Altman produced debut CD, The Drifter and the Gypsy. The 11-song record has already yielded 16 placements including “Think Of Me” in the new Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook) film Dear John as well as shows such as One Tree Hill, Private Practice, Brothers & Sisters, Doll House, Biggest Loser and Ghost Whisperer. Her song “Shine” is the anthem for the international Pantene campaign and “C’est L’amour” is currently licensed to Chicco Clothing with ads in Italy, Portugal and Switzerland.
Most recently, her song "Follow The Arrow", a collaboration with original music and sound design company human, is being featured in a new JC Penny's holiday ad campaign.
Her song “Hazy”, featuring William Fitzsimmons, is featured on Clear Channel’s NEW! Discover and Uncover radio station along with her song "Think of Me", who's video debuted on AOL Music’s spinner.com and Fuse TV.
Rosi, a Kobalt Music writer, has co-written numerous songs for other artists, including “Let Me Out”, a single from Ben’s Brother debut CD (EMI/Virgin). The song was featured on Grey’s Anatomy and nominated for the prestigious Ivor Novello songwriting award for Best Song.
Rosi has toured the US with William Fitzsimmons, Greg Laswell, Ari Hest, Jay Nash and Julian Velard. She's been featured in Billboard Magazine and Performing Songwriter and her song “Think of Me” was the recipient of the ASCAP’s first Robert Allen Award for songwriting.
Hi, Rosi. I heard about you through that song with William Fitzsimmons, and man, I got hooked. I usually don't like "girl" music, but you're fantastic and really fun to listen to. I love the whole album. I can't wait for more. :]
Rosi, are you performing at Sundance any time between January 21st-31st? My roommate and I are going one of the weekends and wanted to know if you'll be performing then.
Rosi, you are incredibly talented, I wish I could sing as well as you. Follow The Arrow and Hazy are just lovely and you harmonize so well with William Fitzsimmons. You're amazing :]
I'm italian and I don't speak english well... So I hope you understand me! You are great!! Your songs are really special... I usually don't like this kind of music but now I' falling in love with your voice and lyrics and sound... It's strange that an italian knows you, so I'll heartily recommend your song to my friends... Please don't stop! :D
