The RSVP Trust's Interests
General
John Ndahiro was one of our first sponsored children. He finished high school with such high grades, he won a government scholarship to go to college to study business management.
At this point his parents left the country. So RSVP continues to meet John's basic needs - helping with accommodation, food etc, for him and his two siblings.
Don Egan is the founder and director of The RSVP Trust. The formation of the Trust came out of Don's ministry in the Church of England where he served as an Anglican minister for 11 years, in two parishes - first in Manchester and then in Stowmarket, Suffolk.
In 1993, Don visited the Philippines where he encountered Third World poverty for the first time.
In 1994, he founded the Trust as he began a series of missions, returning to the Philippines in 1995 and afterwards ministered in Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, and Nigeria as well as continuing to travel throughout the UK.
In 1997, Don witnessed amazing healing miracles in his meetings in Rwanda - a lady who had been blind for 12 years began shouting - "I can see! I can see!' In further meetings, we saw the blind see, the lame walk and the deaf hear.
In the UK too, healing regularly occurs when Don speaks. Blind people recovered their sight, joints and spines are healed of severe pain. A lady who was unable to have children gave birth to a beautiful daughter. A lady blind for 40 years recovered her sight!
Don is a regular speaker with wide experience in a variety of situations. He has preached in refugee camps, at Lloyds of London, in a BT Research Centre, in pubs, conferences, churches of all denominations and various other locations.
He travels to Africa once or twice a year and spends the rest of his time ministering in the UK and developing the work of the Trust.
Don is married to Hazel, and they have two daughters and a grandson.
After studying theology for three years in London, Don was commissioned in 1987 by the Archbishop of Canterbury as a Church of England evangelist. He is a Member of the Archbishops' College of Evangelists - not a building or a training institute, but a group of evangelists formally recognised by the Archbishops' of Canterbury and York.
Don is also an Associate evangelist with J John and The Philo Trust.
Alison Fenning has been working for The RSVP Trust since 2003. She shares the RSVP vision which is to: preach the gospel, teach disciples, and help the poor. Most of her work is done in the UK but she also gets to travel to Africa, America and a few other cool places too.
In the UK, over recent years, she has been part of a prison chaplaincy team in a Suffolk women's prison and also lectured on Prison Fellowship's Compass Programme. This is an intensive 15 week course for men which forces them to face up to character issues, such as unresolved anger, and leads to a new pattern of life.
Ali is currently managing the Ipswich Project which reaches out to women involved in prostitution. Ali pioneered the project in 2005 and am now training Christians from local churches in outreach to the women.
Other time is spent travelling, mainly in the UK, to train church groups in evangelism and also meeting with church leaders to think through new strategies to reach their area or particular people groups.
Beckie Egan Has been working for The RSVP Trust for about two years now. She is one of Dons Daughters.
Beckie deals with all the Admin, mail outs, letters etc, she also looks after the child sponsorship programme that RSVP Runs through Africa New Life ministeries in Rwanda, where we have over 250 sponsored children, with many still needing sponsorship! Beckie also designs the news letters, Book covers, and anything else she can get her hands on. (it was her idea to set up this myspace!)
At the start of 2007, she set up her own photography website click here to have a look. You will also find beckie egan photography in RSVP Trusts friend space!
