ICARUS - SYLT REMIXES
It's been a while since our last release (Rumpistol: Dynamo) but this one have really been worth waiting for.
No less than 14 different artists have remixed ICARUS acclaimed 2007 album 'Sylt'.
International acts like ISAN, FRANK BRETSCHNEIDER, XELA, CoH, ITAL TEK, as well as Danish acts like OPIATE, NABO, KARSTEN PFLUM, SVARTBAG & BADUN all give their own account on the 7 tracks from the original album, creating a compilation that presents several different genres - from abstract electronica, idm, dubstep and 8-bit to electro-acoustic improvisation, cyber-jazz and drone. Simply the perfect soundtrack for your summer-holidays, and it has already been praised by the critics:
"Sylt Remixes is a consistently challenging record which opens up the already vast sound world of Icarus to entirely new textures." - The Milk Factory (UK)
"Overall the listening experience is as invigorating as it is unsettling" - DJ Mag (UK).
"..will load the nerves of the average listener in a similar way Slipknot would to my grandmother" - MTV (DE).
"Given the feeling of flux that imbues Icarus's music a remix album makes perfect sense, while judicious choices regarding the producers chosen to carry out the task mean this feels more like a collection of brand new music than reinterpretations. (..) so much inventive and engaging work." - Chris Power, BBC (UK).
"...you do get your money's worth." - Textura (Canada).
"An excellent platform for the broad spectrum of modern electronica" - Rock A Rolla (UK).
"It's almost impossible to place this album anywhere other than in the 'slightly uneasy listening' bracket. In an age of mass-conformity and mainstream music-by-numbers, such non-conformity can only be a good thing." - Whisperin and Hollerin (UK).
"Icarus' Sylt på nye hænder forvaltes kompetent og kærligt." - ***** GAFFA (DK).

Rump History
Rump Recordings was founded in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2003 with an aim to release uncompromising electronic and experimental music.
However we do not attempt to focus solely on one genre but are more interested in the uncategorizable fields that emerge when artists start to experiment and push the existing boundaries of music.
So, in fact we do welcome all kinds of music but prefer music where the sound is just as important as the composition.
Through the years we have had a tight relationship with different groups of graphic designers, who create artwork for our covers, flyers, website, posters & stickers + we are working with different VJs for our shows.
Rump Events
Apart from releasing music we help programming events such as ChurChill, and our annual easter event at Culture Box (Copenhagen).
Through the years we have been booking acts like: Shackleton (UK), iTAL tEK (UK), Vexkiddy (UK), SoiSong feat. Peter Christopherson (UK/RU), CoH (RU), Cyrus/Random Trio (UK), Ceephax Acid Crew (UK), Clark (UK), Telefon Tel Aviv (US), Elliot Lipp (US), Daedelus (US), Sora (JP), Otto Von Schirach (US), Dictaphone (D), Soundmurderer (US), Minit (AUS), Midaircondo (S), Shitmat (UK), E.P.O. Album : 5 Little Treasures From The North (Yuki Yaki/Rump Recordings)
This video has been shot on a mini dv camera. It took over 2 months to shoot this footage. The distortion of the lights and the warped effect is simply because it was shot through a car windscreen while it was still raining outside. The video was edited & onlined in Pixion a post production studio based in Mumbai, India.
New Release from Section 27 Netlabel [S27-028] ADVIRUZ - NIGHTLY SOUNDS (IDM, Glitch, Experimental)
Adviruz is the artist pseudonym of Istanbul’s Pinar Gurcan, whose growing passion for sound is translated through her music. Since an early age, she has been listening and mimicking opera singers, writing melodies, songs and poems in which she spoke her mind and reflected her soul. All of which are evident on "Nightly Sounds", an 8 track album which is the equivilent of having a glimpse into a diary, learning of love lost, gained, a snapshot of the human condition from which we can all draw experience... All of these things are developed musically into minimalistic glitch, noise, idm, experimental music and microsounds, influences reminiscent of work by artists like Tujiko Noriko, Mira Calix, Plaid and Björk.
Adviruz and Section 27 present "Nightly Sounds", an intricately woven and rewarding musical tapestry. Available now for free download.
