    Salvatore Maiello in art Salvyo born in 1978 to a family where music was in the air thanks to his father, drummer for Bobby Solo, and since the age of three used pots and pans as drums, making them his favourite toy. Thanks to the advice, and fundamental technical support of his father, at the age of six he starts his musical career, studying with professors pasquale Zitelli and Franco Del Prete and continuing his studies at the musical conservatory “Giuseppe Martucci” of Salerno. Xenon his first small group with which he started playing in the church parish in Caserta at only nine years of age, but at the age of 12 thanks to his collaboration with POINT, a well-known Caserta band, came his first demo tape recording entitled Solitudine, while playing with different bands in the south-central part of Italy. At 15 forms a progressive rock band with his friend, the Stoned Ducks, the band plays with great success in the major musical exhibitions and in the best known clubs of the Campania. At 16 he starts his professional music career. Going on tour with the singer Dionira. At 17 and for the next 4 years he becomes the official drummer for Pino D’Angio, playing in Italy’s most beautiful arenas and squares, playing also on television for channels Rai, Mediaet and TMC, in the same period in live concerts with Mp4 band and occassionally with Tony Esposito and Tullio De Piscopo. Afterwards he becomes part of the storic Caserta band Statico Dinamico, with whom he records 2 albums: Even and Odd and Briciole ai tempo. It’s with Statico Dinamico that he receives the award as best percussion performance at the Festival Sound Track 2001 awarded by General Music Italy and the Yamaha award presented by Christian Meyer as best drummer at the SoulMusic 2001 Festival in Palermo. At 24 he begins his collaboration with Ivan Cattaneo which lasts for two years, in the end he decides to leave his city and moves to Piacenza where he becomes part of the Cani Sciolti, an extraordinary coverband, and performs in an incredible 300 concerts in 2 years. Returning to Caserta both in live and in studio while playing with his band Parafunky in local nightclubs. He also becomes part of Peppe Rienzo’s band. Today Salvyo, teaches privately in Caserta and is a teacher in the music school House Music in S. Maria a Vico (CE) and Music Academy in S. Marco Evangelista (CE) and collaborates with numerous emerging artists. Plays live with his band Parafunky and with upcoming artist Marco Saltatempo. He is preparing with Peppe Cristiano for Stockholm’s JCRIST label a solo album set to be released in December 2006. Soon he will be on tour with the female band, produced by Sugar, Mulierius Sindacate.
