Sandbox was formed in 1985 when Jack Brewer and Louise Bialik began combining their spoken word pieces to live recorded jam sessions with guitar and accordion on KXLU radio, moving on to opening for Minute Men, Black Flag, Saccharine Trust, Wurm.... When Louise crossed into Saccharine Trust, with Worldbroken, produced by Mike Watt, it just made sense for Jack and Lou to take their spoken word to an electric set with full band, that's when mates, Aaron Deri, Robert Loveless (Savage Republic) and Spencer Savage (Steaming Coils) jumped in. The band also enjoyed Moist and Meaty's bassist, Tex Watson, followed by Petter Carriero. In the early days of Sandbox, when it was purely spoken word to Jack's guitar, there were a number of videos made for EZ TV, and some short films for Art's Sake. While the group played clubs and supported Sonic Youth when they toured Los Angeles, Sandbox never released a single album. HOWEVER... they have miles of unreleased songs on various formats of tape and have been discussing ways to get it out there to the public. For now, Sandbox offers a tidbit on Myspace. Please feel free to download these rare gems.
Aah ... now I understand ... admit it, Louise ... you want to put up so many different profiles until all myspace will be yours one day ... mhuahahahahh ... mhuahahahahh ...
But, seriously ... you rocked back then, girl ... and you still do!
