Movies
The film, "The Birds", was directed by Alfred Hitchcock and was based on the story of the same name by Daphne du Maurier. The film was released in 1963. Two years earlier, a real life "invasion" of birds occurred in Santa Cruz. The event was reported in the Santa Cruz Sentinel on August 18, 1961. Mr. Hitchcock asked the Santa Cruz Sentinel for a copy of the story, as reported in the Santa Cruz Sentinel on August 21, 1961.

SO, I bet you are asking yourself how, when and why did The Horror Drunx orginzation star, right?
The earliest origins of The Horror Drunx got started out of complete teenage boredom and angst in late december of 2002. It was just Mortimer A. London and a couple of friends to begin with... Watching countless horror movies like there was no tomorrow and imbibing in perhaps a bit too much alcohol, then wandering the streets looking for trouble.It helped that those streets were in the suburbs of South Pasadena, which also happened to be the filming locations for Haddonfield in the original HALLOWEEN. So one night he found himself at Michael Myers house and he I happened to have a camera in his jacket pocket and his friends took some pictures of themselves while they were all liquored up on the front steps. When he got home and looked at the pictures, he said "Hey, we're a bunch of HORROR DRUNX!" and the name stuck.
...Now years later THE HORROR DRUNX is an organization of horror fanatics and horror activists. But what was first just a few friends has grown into 60+ chapters and over 65,000 members world-wide! Now its ranks also include horror actors, directors, writers, and musicians that all work in the horror genre.
Today, many of the chapters are also becoming known for their special events... Be it movie screenings at theaters, music events at clubs, parties, barbeques, and other social mixers where like-minded horror fans can meet. You may even want to also add our special HORROR DRUNX EVENTS page that is in the top row of our friends, so you will be sure not to miss anything important.
