Formed in Plymouth in 2000, the last 8 years has seen Schiztome develop their own distinct brutal sound and become a well-oiled musical killing machine, combining elements of Thrash, the brutallity of Death Metal, the groove and dynamics of Hardcore plus a good sense of song writing, helping lead the way forward in the UK metal scene.
The band released a self titled 4 track demo in 2000 quickly gaining them a large local fan base, followed by the acclaimed 'Puritanically Unreconstructed' EP in the summer of 2003.
Undergoing the obligatory line up changes, Schiztome settled on a solid line up featuring founding members Craig Baker (Vocals), Rich Parker (Drums), and Leigh Jones Guitars) along with Jim Willumsen (Bass) and Geoff Holmes (Guitars).
In 2005, the band released their crushing debut album 'The Art Of Dying' through Casket Music, showcasing Schiztome's ability to create a challenging, intense modern sound which has seen them win over many new fans.
Schiztome have found growing popularity around the South West through intense gigging and opening for the likes of Napalm Death, Suffocation, Skinless, Ephel Duath, Dry Kill Logic, Stampin' Ground, The Abominable Iron Sloth, Charger, Breed 77 and Viking Skull as well as headlining their own high-octane live shows that are known to grab the audience by the throat and pound them into submission from start to finish.
In May 2008, the band entered Speed Of Sound Studios based in Falmouth, Cornwall with producer John Waplington to record a 5 track EP entitled 'Endtime Prophecy' which will hopefully see the light of day very soon!
