Vary from gig to gig, usually found in alleyway behind venue on the day of the show. Must demonstrate ability to count to four, stand upright for extended periods of time, and pretend to play the instruments I provide them (not real instruments, mostly made of foil and cardboard) loosely in time with my prerecorded Karaoke tracks. Also must be willing to work for whatever portion of my alloted free booze I haven't dispersed of by the end of the night. Usually not a problem to find, but if I can't find enough bums for the job I just slip a healthy dose of acid into the tap beer kegs and my audiences get to think I'm being backed up by the London Philharmonic. With special guest conductor Mr. T. It's really a lot of fun...
Influences
ABBA, Michael Damien, G.G. Allen, John Tesh, Zamfir - master of the Pan Flute, Cher, Whatever that band is that Keanu Reeves plays bass for, Black Oak Arkansas, New Kids on the Block (the earlier stuff...before they lost their edge), Charlie Pride, David Bowie's codpiece, T-Pain, Rupert Holmes, Corey Hart, Afroman, Leo Sayer, the 'Books on Tape' version of 'Little Women' narrated by Bobcat Goldthwait, ManOWar, Kenny G, The incredible singing manatee quartet that exists only in my imagination (wish you could hear them, they are very talented), Engelbert Humperdinck, Grace Jones, Zac Hacker, and the guy who sang the theme from 'Thundercats'. That freakin' ROCKED.
Sounds Like
Hmm...maybe if you put a bunch of retarded kittens in a dryer, set it on permanent press and ran it through a very large amplifier. (DISCLAIMER: I would never actually do this, I am only theorizing here. If I were to, however, I imagine it would sound pretty close.) Oh, and there are lyrics.
I'm a 27 year old currently residing in Muscle Shoals, Al. I love making and hearing good music, and have been fortunate enough to be able to make a living as a guitarist/singer/songwriter for the last 6 or 7 years...have enjoyed getting the opportunity to play with some of my heroes including Leon Russell, Jimmy Hall, Bonnie Bramlett, Paul Thorn, Russell Smith and many more. I am currently working on a solo record, I hope to have it done by the summer. I have also recently started teaching guitar to beginners and intermediate students. I enjoy travelling and what has become my most strenuous form of exercise these days, frisbee golf. I like to think of myself as a fair, open-minded person with an almost uncanny ability to empathize with others (I tear up at the movies a lot) but also the presence of mind to analyze situations objectively. Most people would probably consider me a pretty easy-going guy, and I am happy to get to do what I love as a profession. However, I am currently going back to school at the University of North Alabama and trying to work harder and better myself in multiple ways in the interest of making my future more secure.
