"Some writers one admirers and others make one want to do as they do, or try. For me, Joe Pulver is of the latter type. His imagination is so vile so much of the time that it makes me giggle with amazement. And the prose so deadly visionary. I'm grateful that the pieces in this collection are those of a fellow horror writer who has raised the ante on what it means to be such a creature." - Thomas Ligotti

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my 2nd horror novel SACRIFICE was released this month - and is in stores everywhere, including Amazon.com. I hope you'll check out the book! Here are a couple reviews it's gotten:

“SACRIFICE is not for the timid or weak of heart, it is a full frontal assault on your senses. It is a dark, brutal, bloody and terribly frightening book. Everson went deep into some dark abyss to bring this book to the light of day.... I highly recommend Sacrifice.”
    —Famous Monsters of Filmland

“John Everson manages in SACRIFICE to dispense buckets of blood, provide edgy perversity, and walk the tenuous tightrope of horror and sex without falling: It’s rather an amazing feat.” –Hell Notes

I bid you a hauntingly happy All Hallows Eve, Mr Torrance... er, I mean, Mr. Falkner.
    ; )

Now, to get into the true "spirit" of this ever-so-grand holiday of holidays, I thought I'd pass along a little treat from a mutual friend of ours... Mr. William Peter Blatty.

Dude, it still gets me every time!

    It's (Almost) Friday!

I'm finished with A Demon Awaits, just waiting for cover art now.

Yesterday I scheduled an interview on a cable television show. I'll be on a local show in Framingham, MA in November and I hope to be at the Framingham BN soon after.

Now I need to figure out how to sound smart. I have hours to think about what my characters are going to say. Hopefully, I'll come up with something worth listening to.

It's nice to finally get out and see people again. I'm looking forward to touring and shaking hands in bookstores. Hope to see you in one soon.

Many thanks, Scott, way to go!

BTW, have you seen my website discussion board at http://www.barryeisler.com/forum? It's a fun forum with a lot of interesting people from all over the world talking about the Rain Fall movie (recently wrapped shooting in Tokyo and NYC), the next book, writing, politics, single malt whisky, and anything else that strikes people's fancy, and we do a monthly chat on writing, too, so if you have a chance, stop by and say hello. It would be good to see you there...

    :)
