Scott Ivey sings because he’s got something to say.
Whether proselytizing about love, hope, dreams, God, relationships or what he had for dinner last night... you kind of get the feeling this guy means it. With gut-wrenching lyrics and a voice tailor made to sing the Blues, Scott has the uncanny ability to turn a three-minute melody into a story about whomever is listening.
"The last thing I want to do when I’m performing is sing at people. I’ve been in bands that did that... screaming, ’we have nothing to say, but we’re loud and this song has a cool guitar riff, so jump up and down and buy our record!’ I think I’ve finally come to the point in my life and in my career where I see every song as an opportunity to take folks somewhere familiar... somewhere they might not have been for a long time... An opportunity, ultimatley to show the listeners a little something about myself that may profoundly impact their lives."
After 8 years of playing rock shows and chasing the dream from bar to bar in city to city, Scott seems to finally be comfortable doing what he’s always done best. Singing.
