Music
I love all kinds of music as long as it comes from the heart, But Francis Albert Sinatra and Antonio Carlos Jobim will always hold a special place in mine.
Below is a fairly current copy of my discography. Please utilize the key at the top before asking me "what did you do on this record?" I took the time to post all this ( I deplore typing), so please return the courtesy by taking the time to read before asking. Thanks, Sean

Movies
I am easily entertained by movies so i'm no snob. i love the classics: "8 1/2", "the tin drum", "my life as a dog", "the 400 Blows", etc. but i also love bad science fiction and
will watch a blockbuster instead of an arthouse flick. i also love the arthouse flick!
i just don't like cheesy romantic comedies though i loved "Four Weddings and a Funeral"
Television
I'm not going to be cool and say that i don't watch tv. That was true in the 80's, but since "Twin Peaks" tv's been pretty good. On the current TIVO list: "24", "Battlestar Galactica"
yes all the CSI's, "The Daily Show", "Without a Trace", "West Wing". And i am still mourning the loss of "Farscape"!
Books
everything by: Tom Robbins, John Irving, Isaac Asimov, Clive Barker, Douglas Adams, David Sedaris, Margaret Atwood, Dan Brown, Marvin Harris, Richard P. Feynman, Kurt Vonnegut, Ferdinand Celine, Dennis Miller, Michael Beschloss, the list goes on and on.
Anne Sexton, Charles Bukowski, E.E. Cummings, T.S. Elliot, W.S. Merwin, C.S. Lewis,
J.R.R Tolkien...
all the Harry Potter books, His Dark Materials, Series Of Unfortunate events, etc...
ad infinitum...
About me: I remember the day I found the reel-to-reel recorder tucked away in a drawer
in my parents basement. I was 9 years old and I had found the Holy Grail!
recording every song that played on the radio, then friends conversations, even
telephone calls, I became obsessed. There was no reason to sleep, no reason
to eat, sometimes I’d have to remind myself to breathe when I had my finger
on the record button. Every time I listened to playback, I would constantly
consider how I could make it sound more real, more intense, more dramatic.
that is when I knew I had to be a record producer.
In considering how to achieve my goal I looked to my hero at the time,
Bob Ezrin, who produced all those great Alice Cooper records that drove my
mother crazy. So you can imagine my delight when I had to call my mother
(a church school administrator) and tell her I had just been chosen to mix
Marilyn Manson’s “Antichrist superstar”. “Sorry mom!”
I had two lucky breaks that got me the chance to show my metal. The
first happened two weeks after I graduated from Ohio University. My friend
and guitarist Don Cook called me to say he had just been recording at
a studio called Great Tracks in downtown Cleveland and they were looking
for an engineer. Now I had only assisted one guy for the two weeks I had
been out of school, but I decided to go for it. I went down to the studio and met
with the owner Bruce Seiffert. He and I got along great in that interview, and he
went out on a limb and hired me. I learned the value of a great first impression
that day. The second break was the big one. The one where this keyboard player
named Trent says, “your stuff sounds great, could you mix my demos?”
that “yes!” changed my life.
Who I'd like to meet: I put up this page to call attention to bands I’m working with, or have worked
with, because not all of them have had the breaks that Nine Inch Nails or Marilyn
Manson or No Doubt have had. Of course, they’re success also came with huge
talent, dedication, and lots of work, but face it, luck has a lot to do with it as well.
So please, if you have enjoyed some of the bands that I have been fortunate
enough to work with, check out these bands. You may find some new
favorites as I have.
WHO I'D LIKE YOU TO MEET
Bands I’m in:
8mm:
8mm is a down tempo/trip hop band that I formed with my wife Juliette
last year. I found out Juliette could sing quite by accident, and when we started
to write together something magic happened. We have been lucky enough
to have gathered a following on Myspace and around the world, have
returned from a successful run of shows in the U.K., had some amazing shows in Chile and just finished a tour of the South and Midwest in the states. We are currently playing in Los Angeles where we live.
Our new record "Songs to Love and Die By" is finished. We are currently in negotiations to get it into record stores and into the record collections of a few cool people.
Hey Bro, I always love coming to Hollywood, looking into the crowd and seeing you two! I had a great time just getting to talk for a few minutes. See you in December.
Thanks for coming to see CORE. It really meant a lot to the Bank and me. In Vegas finishing up the VME's. Intense week man. Talk to you soon. Take care.
Found your name pop up in this Guitar World interview with Twiggy Ramirez (jeordie white). pretty cool man.
"Guitar World: Sean Beavan also told me you blew up a lot of amps. Twiggy Ramirez: Oh yeah. The recording process was: take two days to set up something, then five minutes to play the part and blow up something. The playing was the easy part."
and this:
"Guitar World: Sean Beavan was telling me how you started writing up at the house, using sequencers and Pro Tools and things like that. And how you ten moved down to Conday to finish the record with more live playing. Twiggy Ramirez: Yeah. On the last album, a lot of what was great about the demos was lost when we went into the studio and did the record. With this one, we were able to save some of the parts from the demos. A lot of songs are hybrids of stuff from the demos and live performances in the studio. This is the most live record we've ever dome. Before, a lot of the stuff was cut and made perfect, with all the guitar and bass parts playing exactly the same thing, really tight and perfect. But this one's a lot looser. All the performances are pretty much live, like one pass through on the guitar and bass. But then that's edited together with more mechanical stuff. It's a real mixture of mechanical and real playing. Guitar World: Mechanical and animal. "
wow you masterd EAT ME, DRINK ME?! rule. it was really great to meat you. i wish my hair and my expression didnt look so dumb.
i came across an interview with Twiggy Ramirez (jeordie white) and he mentioned you, thought you might find it as amusing as i did, but probably not.
Twiggy Ramirez: Yeah. We will probably be working with some other producers too, but we'll still work with Trent. Melanie: There was a rumor that you guys weren't speaking to him. Twiggy Ramirez: No. But when we were in the studio for Smells Like Children he brought in these male strippers while we were playing. He said it had something to do with the vibe in the place. He made his engineer, Sean, wear this grey old lady wig. Scouts honor, I swear. It sounds crazy, but I swear it's true. Male strippers, and they were terrible, they were these big muscular guys. And he made the engineer wear the wig, and these gaudy earrings. These really gaudy clip on earrings.
