   About Sean Wagner
Sean Wagner formed and fronted the Boston-based pop-rock/alt-country band Fallback Crush. After playing shows in Boston and around New England, Sean moved to Portland, Oregon to write and perform on his own. Sean's debut EP, Long Lost Photograph, was released on May 3rd, 2008. Long Lost Photograph features performances by Josh Baruch, Bryan Daste, Jeff Simpson, and Brad Wager.

Reviews For Long Lost Photograph (available on CDBaby)-

"Portland, Ore. singer/songwriter Sean Wagner's latest EP, Long Lost Photograph, beautifully showcases his songwriting skills. Wagner succeeds at something most songwriters won’t experience until much later in their careers: finding a quality band. Supported by Brad Wager on bass, Josh Baruch on drums, Bryan Daste on pedal steel, and Jeff Simpson keyboards, Wagner’s soft yet meaningful voice is well complimented as the group accurately captures the mood of each song.

Wagner captures the beauty and simplicity of acoustic rock with a light and happy vibe – just the songs for a sunny day at the beach. Wagner’s melodic writing is easy to follow. Relying on the time-tested techniques of catchy choruses and catchy melodies, Wagner plays it safe with five first-rate songs on Long Lost Photograph." Dave Boodakian, Performer Magazine

"What is so attractive about the folk pop/roots rock stylings on Sean Wagner’s latest EP Long Lost Photograph is that you don’t have to like folk or roots music in order to like this record. Wagner's rhythms have a catchy feel that resembles Elvis Costello. Whether Wagner is playing a willowy ballad or a pulsating uptempo song, he knows how to keep the crowd involved in his music with well arranged beats and pleasing melodic structures.

Sean Wagner’s songs may have traditional roots rock idioms and folk-fringed wanderings, but he gives these relatively sedate genres a certain punch that wakes up the listener’s senses. Though Long Lost Photograph is only a 5 song EP, it is still worth checking out. The Dave Matthews Band moved folk music ahead in the ‘90s and Wagner seems to want the reins in the 2000’s." Absolutepunk.net

"It's remarkable that local troubador Sean Wagner can even play the guitar with his heart so firmly attached to his sleeve. Long Lost Photograph is reminscent of Elvis Costello-saccharine sweet love songs are accentuated with a soft voice and only the most honorable intentions." The Portland Mercury

"If falling in love had a melody, it would sound exactly like the keyboard line in Sean Wagner's "I Can't Tell You." But as it turns out, the song's about breaking up, not falling in love. That juxtaposition of the bitter and the sweet marks each song on his debut EP in some way, as the sleepy sun-bleached melodies explore the ineffable sweetness of looking back and trying to move on.

With a sound reminiscent of the softer side of Pete Yorn mixed up with John Mayer's alt-country-tinged cousin, the 5 songs on Long Lost Photograph feel instantly familiar. Have longing and regret been covered by other artists in other times? Yeah, of course. But it's been a while since someone new explored them with such an artful blending of summery lightness and heartbreaking intimacy.

While the subject matter may be the classic melancholy of missed opportunities and what-might-have-been, the reality is that this is music to be listened to on the beach, in the park, or on a long drive with the windows down and the stereo up. In an alt-country lilt that alternates between songs heavier on the alt and heavier on the country, Sean Wagner evokes sunshine and long afternoons and lemonade on the porch. Sit back, relax, and indulge in a daydream about that one perfect summer, that one perfect lover, that one perfect, sun-drenched, frozen-in-time day. So maybe you can't go home again—you can sure as hell sing about it."- Lisa Marshall

"Sean Wagner is an up-and-coming artist. Songs like Christina and This Side of The Moon reflect very strong compositional arrangements with captivating interplay between the band members. His new EP Long Lost Photograph is not to be missed."-Bridge Guitar Review

Thanks for coming out to the Sellwood last night. I felt damn good about that set. Machinehead was the perfect closer ;)

Tonight's show should be fun. Could be a total disaster because we haven't played those songs in 2 years, but it will be a fun disaster.
