Biography
Sekhmet formed in summer 2003 and began writing material and playing a few gigs over the summer. In April 2004 they recorded on their first demo the "Creator of chaos" E.P.
The summer of 2004 saw the first rise of the band, winning over crowds as they played gigs in their area including supporting Breed 77 and winning a Battle of the Bands at Exeter Cavern, leading to the recording of the Desolate Earth single in late 2004. The band continued to play shows throughout 2005 both locally and nationally and after another summer of gigging Dave left Devon to study at the prestigious Drumtech drum college in London. The band began recording for their E.P. "Engine of War" in May 2006. With Dave returning from his course it was self released later that year and is available to buy using paypal on this page!
The band went through a turbulent stage from 2008-2009 due to the loss of several founding members and the subsequent relocation from Exeter to Plymouth. Recently they have acquired the services of guitarist Tom Rimmington and drummer Adam Robertshaw. They are currently writing new material for a new release.
Bringing their own take on British Thrash the band continue to redefine their sound and continue to look to the future.
