In the summer of 2008 five musicians set out to make their mark on the Canadian music scene. Coming from different musical backgrounds and bands, each member was hopeful for bigger and better things, collaborating together working toward a new sound. Thus ‘Set Anchors’ was born and premiered on October 24th along with two other up-and-coming local bands Kingdoms, and Gracefield. After a well-received debut they decided it most appropriate to start writing new material and to prepare for their upcoming release. Months passed and unexpected setbacks soon began to take place, with some members leaning towards other commitments and most recently moving in different directions. However, Set Anchors had no intention of slowing down and completed the line-up with three new members while they continued to move forward. Their goal as a band has always been the same: write, record, tour. After finishing a Cross-Canada tour this summer, with a whole new set they are out and ready to make their mark on the Canadian music scene. Gearing up for many tours and their first release in 2010 only bigger and brighter opportunities are up ahead for the five piece as they've set out to make a name for themselves in hand with their powerful live performances and hard work.
Set Anchors have always supported their hometown and local music.
