Bio:

Shanti, is active in the Japanese music industry, writing lyrics, singing for jingles and film music, as well as collaborating with/for many well known artists there, like Toku, Marleen, or even Take 6, Her voice is known world wide due to her collaborations with Kanno Yoko for various animated films. (Sora for example) She's been on stage as background and/or featured vocalist with top artists and since 2003 has been performing / touring on her own in various configurations. "Share My Air," her "indie" debut album, was recorded in Paris with some of France's top musicians. and released 2008. June of 2010 saw her major label debut, "Born To SIng" released in Japan, entering at #1 the Jazz charts, even if the album is not purely Jazz, but jazzy touches as well as pure acoustic ambiances. Both are on iTunes worldwide, CD's in Japan, with an upcoming Southeast Asian release of "Born To Sing" in the near future. She is just finishing a new album due for release at the end of January, 2011. In April of 2010 Shanti finished her 18 month-long co-hosting position for J-Melo, a music program broadcast on NHK World It introduces Japanese Music from J-pop to Jazz to Hip Hop to R&B. Shanti not only performed on the show during this time, also did many out of town interviews as well. Since leaving the show, she has appeared once already as a guest, with another appearance for "Club J Melo" in November 2010. Recording has begun for her upcoming, early 2011 release.
