Happy Thanksgiving

hey. um. NOT COOL on NOT UPDATING about the convention this year :..

at least make a formal announcement that its been canceled.

i love you guys dearly, being my hometown convention/first convention and all. not to mention you all connected me with loads of fun people.

but this?

im very disappointed in what's become of it.

I understand that last year was canceled because of the hurricane, but this year, why no updates? why no "hey sorry guys, we're having trouble in situating ourselves in another hotel."? i'm sure there must of been SOME other hotel that would host.

however, if it was things we cant comprehend. then just say it. Announce that Shimakon is dead for this year and there's no reason for anyone else coming by to ask if there will be one later in the year, or even next year.

you all are a business, not just some fun-tiem-anime-yay convention. handling people's money is a very serious business. fine. no re-funds (thank god i didn't reserve a room or a ticket. its worthless now) but you've had these people's money for two octobers now. :..

were you having trouble with staff? then get new more dedicated staff. having trouble putting together a street crew? ask the fans.  having trouble on the island? RELOCATE.

its a shame that now, Shimakon has a bad reputation.

if there happens to be a convention next year, good luck to you. but me? i'll buy my tickets at the door. and i would advise everyone else to do the same IF (and thats a GIANT IF) Shimakon is to be held next year.

there are plenty of people disappointed in the staff, in the convention, and the experience as a whole.
