"Save Me" our last studio recording as Short Warning has just been made available as a free download on Myspace and last.fm/music/Short+Warning. The band have amicably decided to call it a day. We are still the very best of friends but decided we need to move on. Carl is still writing music and making plans for the future. Nick as always is writing music with Gareth so expect some new material soon. Gareth is now the drummer in "The Smokin Aces" myspace.com/thesmokinacesrock. So watch out!
Short Warning, a charismatic melodic rock outfit from London and Buckinghamshire with it's own exciting sound, style and dynamic live performance, was formed when twin brothers Nick (bass) and Gareth (drums) met singer/guitarist Carl in college. Calum joined Short Warning in early 2006, playing lead guitar until July 2008. In December 2008, Alvin, a good friend and respected musician agreed to take on the role of lead guitar. The band is currently in the process of writing it's second album.
Breaking out of it's local circuit in 2006, the band performed up and down the country, also touring with Useless ID (Kung Fu) and 4Ft Fingers (Golf). Short Warning was interviewed and filmed playing live at Underworld in London by Redemption TV. Finally entering Stakeout Studios in winter 2006 to record their debut album “Safety In Numbers”.
Short Warning's debut album “Safety in Numbers” was released in May 2007 through Golf Records (UK) and Pyropit Records (Japan) to excellent reviews with tracks being played on various radio stations. One of the tracks "Working Title" featured in the BBC 1 comedy/drama "All About Me". The band completed a successful “Safety In Numbers” tour followed up by further tours with Spunge and Fandangle.
2008, a year of change and evolution, with Calum leaving in July and Alvin taking the role of lead guitar in December, the band took the opportunity to concentrate on writing new material for the January 2009 tour with Templeton Pek.
It's sad to see the second album never saw the light of day. Short Warning as a band will be missed; but I'll still appear in places and bother you lot. :P Save Me is pretty cool, by the way. :)
