Comprised of James Mulholland (vocals, guitars and keys), Ric Ormerod (bass) and Michael Brown (drums), The KBC may have taken their first steps up the musical ladder three years ago but the alliance goes back a lot further than that... all three members were in the same class at school together.
Since their debut 7” Trippin hit the independent record store shelves (a limited pressing of 500 yellow vinyls, complete with hand sprayed sleeves) the band have established themselves a modest underground following across the UK and Europe playing alongside The Strokes, The Sunshine Underground, Arctic Monkeys, !!!, The Paddingtons, Forward Russia, performing at the Glastonbury festival, and ramming out club partys in France, Germany, Austria and Ibiza, as well as running their own night, Club Sandwich, in home town Preston to expose the best up and coming new bands.
With the release of their razor sharp new single imminent, the following months promise to be very exciting indeed...
THE FLY... ‘Who needs LSD when you’ve got The KBC?’
DJ MAG... 'Could inspire strange yearnings for herbal tea! 5*'
ARTROCKER... ‘The KBC hit the jackpot for killer grooves’
NME... ‘Machine gun guitars and disco drums making unusual bedfellows’
Personal favourite!...
AUDIOSCRIBBLER... 'If you’ve had a disaster of a day, pop this on and you’ll be bouncing round like a toddler let loose in a Smarties factory'
