Originally, Sidney K is a Hull lad, and proud of it, but due to work commitments, had to relocate to the south coast in 2006, where he now fills his down time with songwriting sessions by the sea, watching his beloved Hull KR on Sky or whenever he can get back home, satisfying his sauna addiction, and prowling E-Bay for worthless tat....
Sidney K has often been compared to a number of iconic and high profile singers, one of the most interesting comparisons being drawn to Eddie Vedder, Ray LaMontagne, Andrew Strong (The Commitments) and Metallica’s James Hetfield!!!
He has a strong, and distinctive songwriting style, using his acoustic guitar as a vehicle to facilitate the mechanics of the song, and convey the heartfelt, enigmatic, and sometimes downright cynical lyrics by way of his captivating vocal style, making any show featuring Sidney K an enthralling, and memorable listening experience...
The music is an intoxicating mix of blues tinged acoustic rock, mixed with pop influenced hooks and riffs that keep the songs spinning in your head long after the show has ended..
