Silent Decay
Metalcore? Screamo? Neo Thrash? New Metal? Göteborg Metal?
Whatever... For Silent Decay it’s all simply Metal.
The band doesn’t care for categories.
Silent Decay know their Metal roots but are not stuck in the past. They constantly developed their sound without forgetting where they have come from. Bulky guitars, catchy leads, pushing rhythms and concise vocals above – that is the framework of their music. The audience is run over by the coarse power. But Silent Decay never forgets to put in melodies and hooklines to hold on to.
The debut album “World of Lies”
Produced by Herman Frank (Accept, Victory), “World of Lies” was released on August 1st 2005 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland by Atomic Symphony Records/Rough Trade. In March 2006 the album was also released in England and Italy. Silent Decay shot a video clip for the song “You Studpid One”.
The second album “The Pain of Creation”
Two years later, on the 21st of September 2007, Silent Decay released their second album “The Pain of
Creation”. Recorded in the Hospital Underground Studio Holzkirchen and the subverZStudio Munich
and once more mixed and mastered by Herman Frank in the Arena 20 Studios in Hannover. He polished
Silent Decays music once more and gave “The Pain of Creation” it’s marvellous powerful sound. An
awesome album needs a special artwork. So the band entrusted this task to Meran Karanitant, who
has been working for Six Feet Under, Hatebreed and Chimaira before. The album was released in Germany,
Austria and Switzerland by their new label Artist Station Records/Soulfood. At the bottomline,
with “The Pain of Creation” Silent Decay’s path has been facing straight upwards!
The third album “Kings of the Dead End Road“
Recently Silent Decay completed their third album “Kings of the Dead End Road”. Between the end of
December 2008 and the beginning of April 2009 the band recorded 10 Songs at the Arena 20 Studio
Hannover, the Media Base Studio Geretsried and the Hospital Underground Studio Holzkirchen, being
both heavy and melodic at the same time. Herman Frank did once again the instrumental recordings,
whereas the vocal recordings were done by Jürgen Plangger und Basti Wedekind this time. Mix and
mastering were then again in the hands of Herman Frank who did a brilliant job once more. The line
of approach on the third album was to make the heavy parts heavier and the melodic elements more
melodic – an aim that was achieved completely. The often heard statement “the thrid album will make
it or break it“ will be a make it with “Kings of the Dead End Road“.
