   About Silent Surface (RIP)
Silent Surface is a unique rock band from London, Ohio. They originally became a band in 2005. The earliest members in Silent Surface were Brandon Sargent (bass), Shawnn Eavenson (vocals), Adam Carroll (lead guitar) and Brock Potter (drums).

In recent months Silent Surface has rocketed to the top of Columbus’s local scene. The band continues to show their true talent with each new song they write. Every concert they play draws a new bigger and a dedicated crowd. Silent Surface has an extremely high-energy stage performance and effortlessly involves the audience. Their passionate and heart-felt lyrics are captivating and are easy to associate with, which make their songs particularly easy to remember. With each member’s remarkable talents, abilities, skills, vast ambition, and their dreams in sight, they continue to thrive and look ahead to what may be held for them in the future.

The accomplishments of this band and its growing fan base have let them share their music in venues such as but not limited to: The Alrosa Villa, Billiard Club, CBR's, FayCO on the Farm, Newport Music Hall, and Birdy’s in Indianapolis. They have also played in front of a crowd of 1000 people at the Mad Cow Bash in 2005; they preformed at an Allbiz label showcase at Whiskey Dick’s, and furthermore, have opened for bands such as Nonpoint, Skindred, Egypt Central, and Karnivool.

Silent Surface intends to disperse their talents outside of Ohio to broaden their fan base and venue’s -in 2008. Silent Surface’s album “Darkened Keys” was released in late September 2007 is an excellent blend of melody, aggression, angst, and rebellion.

Due to recent advances of the band’s success, the band members have changed. Two new amazing talents: Joe Galford (rhythm guitar) and Nathan Hartley (bass, vocals), both joined Silent Surface in late 2007.

Thank you for a wonderful 5(FIVE) Years- YES FIVE BRIAN - NOT 3.

I will always cherish the wonderful times we had hanging.....and the wonderful friendships I made.

Love you guys.

p.s. - to anyone that thinks that the reason for the breakup was drama or "outside" influences........think again.  These guys had a wonderful FIVE years and it's time for all of them to move on with their lives and maybe, just maybe, move on to other ventures.

xoxo

At the show serveral had asked me if it was a publicity stunt. My only reply was "The band didn`t need a publicity stunt. All it needed was optomism, leveled communication, and no outside distractions w/the time to heal. It took on some bruises, but just couldn`t climb the bull shit drama wall to move forward. Only "real life" and mass amounts of pesimism sponged the passion right out of the band, and nothing more. It should have and could have been fixed".
Well there goes my world of escape from "real life", but I have a hard time just giving up on something I beleive in. I`ve been a nomad longer than I want to.
Good luck fellas finding what you had. You are all now band nomads. You finally had the right combo, it was the right look, feel, and sound, it was who you was.............................
It would be fitting to add your new song and photos on the page of Jacob and Joe, so the people could at least enjoy it. I for one thought it was the best SS yet.

So…

It's definitely not easy to see the letters "RIP" after Silent Surface, but above all, if you’re happy I’m happy.  You guys sounded ridiculously fantastic Saturday night, and I am so grateful I got to see you one last time.  Thanks for being basically the coolest band ever.  I still remember how blown away I was by you guys at the Basement when I first met you and how incredible you guys were at MadCow when I heard you for the first time ever, and the five years since then have only served to prove further that you are just about the nicest group of guys anyone could hope to meet.  I can honestly say I love all of your songs, from “My Best Friend” to “Arkham.”  (And before you think I don’t mean it, just know that I wouldn't say that about any other band.)  I wish you the best of luck with whatever you end up doing, and just remember that my love, my love for you is unbreakable (yes, it’s true).

(I really tried to keep this comment from sounding so sappy but this is the best I could do considering the circumstances.  Also it’s very hard to write a paragraph about what I think of you guys.)

You all need to kick back, take a breath, and concider that you are all natural born performers. It took this long to get that right combo together, and shrter to end it. I heard the new stuff, it..s fucking DOPE. Toss it to the fans and let them tell you, you got nothing to lose. If you give up the band over personal life issues, you..ll never fill that void that is your release, I..ve seen it too many times.You..l see that the people love you on the 31st, so love them back and keep them entertained, they have more than earned it! Instead of closing the book before the story unfolds, turn to the next chapter. Take a break, get life in order, and get back to doing what you all do best, good ole Rock & Roll............
