Slackers Delight started life in 1995 in Birmingham the brainchild of 3 like-minded individuals Ollie, Bowen, Matt. The name was originally the name of a Sunday mash up club held at the Circo bar in Birmingham where you were just as likely to here the DJ's spinning the Carpenters alongside black Sabbath as you would planet E with James brown.
In 1996 DJ Del'Agua & Bowen 1 3rd of slackers delight started a club night at the steering wheel club in birmingham's Chinese quarter which was to rival nights such as the heavenly social & the big beat boutique booking top dj's from hiphop to jungle.
It was at these nights that slacker delight developed there 3 deck & fx beats & scratch fest homing there djing skillz over the next 18 months until the unfortunate end of the night to make way for a lap dancing club. in 1998 the club moved to the infamous wobble club where it took on the new name of Nutonic and slackers delight had more memorable djing gigs now slackers started to branch out playing such clubs as the heavenly social, big kahuna burger, ny sushi it was at this point slackers delight were reduced to a 2 man band matt left to move to London to pursue his musical career but ollie & bowen soldered on creating musical mayhem up and down the country.
By 2000 nutonic was well established in its new home, when disaster struck and wobble burned down, time for us to move again to the third and final home of slackers delight the medicine bar home of softly U.K.
Ollie & Bowen (photo) have been building up a studio and developing there sound since 1999 and only now feel comfortable with there results culminating in the release of there debut E.P on Softly recordings released in summer 2002, by 2003 the sound was developing into a electro/acid house hybrid and with the addition of CJ aka Digital One to the production team and the DJ setup bringing with him Ableton live a loop based sequencer with soft synths the possibilities were now endless Slackers Delight have spent the last 18 months perfecting there skills and are now beginning to unleash there live sets on unsuspecting audiences around the country there aural assault of jackin acid house will tear up any dancefloor thats thrown at them. 2006 will be the year for these boys hard at work putting together there debut album keep your eyes and your ears peeled.
Hi Slackers Delight, thanks for continuing to be a friend of Electroflex.
Some important news!
Electroflex have been back in the studio following a break from gigging and recording with new track ‘Computer Virus’.
This is the first of a series of new releases for 2009, and what better day to start on than Liz’s Birthday!
‘Computer Virus’ is a live favourite. Anyone forced to work with computers will know how evil they are and this track is Electroflex’s response to Kraftwerk’s ‘Its More Fun to Compute’. It is a bouncy number with a serious bassline, sing-along chorus and a selection of curious samples.
The track will only be up on Myspace in full for a short time. Alternatively, visit our Facebook and iLike pages where you can add the song to you playlists
