I listened to Sweetkorn and the songs from your first live @ lunch (the radio show in Fort Collins) yesterday and was so impressed, again. Way to be awesome.
Howdy- just stopped by again to say "thanks" for being my friend on here. A buddy of mine here in Tucson recommended that I try to find your music, and I'm glad to have heard some. As a musician type myself, I am happy to find stuff that is vital and free of restriction.
Hi Michael! I saw a jam band last night in Fort Collins, CO called Honey Gitters. They came up with a tune for EAP's "El Dorado" too. What a fun surprise! I found them behind the venue after their set and told them about you and your version. I told 'em to look you up.
I hope all is well with you. Looking forward to getting Snocked when I return to P-town next month! Happy trails!
Thank you for the add Michael. Great music--surprised it took this long for me to discover, but look forward to catching up --from First Songs to Have Moicy,Wolfways, Ida Con Snock and everything in between.
Wildegeeses is an incredible song--something rare and timeless about the way the song connects (like Bob Dylans Blowin in the Wind, I guess). Such a great song I wanted to play--hope you don't mind.
Actually, I would rather hear you play it. And you are from the East, aren't you-- I sense a groundswell of interest in an Eastern tour among folks around here. Any chance?
In any event, let me present you with the key to our music site--please feel welcome to visit any time, for a look or listen. Ted (Dr. T of the Art Punk Band)
"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
Hey Michael! I was sorry to have missed your Papa G's show, I didn't realize it was so early. But I hope it went great and that you're enjoying this beautiful summer! Maybe I'll catch you at the Press Club.
I think we met in the grocery store, that's right, over a graphic book or three. Or maybe it was that night all hopped up on mushrooms, aweigh high in that old cherry tree, under the pull of the full moon bright. Sure were some cerise divine. Or was it online, in one of those flirt sites, the one all about pix & hips & bites? I can't recall, but I feel like the belle of the ball come home to host a hodown kickin up the dust like a showdown at her local dancing hall capped with a cornbread crown, butter & honey, & quatro flor clover to sweet soften the ground.
wow that would be amazing, i'm sure my uncle will be so humbled to receive anything from you! just the fact that you are even responding to me about him has lifted his spirits and feel of some worth. for that i can not thank you enough.
mr. hurley, once again my uncle has asked me to relay this message to you. (hope you dont mind)
-thank you very much, it means alot coming from someone i admire so much. i have given this some thought and i would like some kind of momento but not really material goods. my wish is that you could send a copy of a show to me i completely understand if that is asking to much. if any of my request seem heavy or a burden something as simple as a letter would be priceless. i will reemberse you for your stamps even! thank you for everything u have done and most of all for the time to read this.
