April 2008 we released our recording "Rest Of The Year" with 15 songs of traditional, swing, folk, old time and original songs. We recorded it at Chase Park with Tom Lewis and had several guests add to the album. David Blackmon on fiddle and mandolin, Dick Daniels on stand up bass and Tommy Jordan on clawhammer banjo. Thanks to EVERYONE who came to our CD Release Party at Masters Hall....we raised $1400 for WUGA!
The Solstice Sisters are Maggie Hunter, Susan Staley and Anna Durden three women harmonizing old time country ballads, traditional folk and 40's styled swing. Known not only for their lovely three part harmonies, but also for their spontaneous and energetic live shows. They have just released their new CD, "The Rest of the Year" featuring David Blackmon playing fiddle and mandolin, Dick Daniels on stand up bass and Tommy Jordan on claw hammered banjo. The CD is a mix of traditional old time & bluegrass styled ballads and swing songs and also feature some original songs from the sisters.
It was way back in 1994 that these three first got together to work up a few Christmas songs for a holiday event and it was the beginning of The Solstice Sisters and also the beginning of a long lasting friendship and partnership in song! In 1999 they released their album, "Holiday Music From Around the World", which is now in its second pressing. And now after nine years of fans asking for a recording they could listen to the rest of the year, the sisters are proud to release their second album entitled simply "The Rest of the Year" The Sisters have performed at many festivals in Northeast Georgia, sharing the stage with the likes of Doc Watson, Doyle Larson & Quicksilver, Ralph Stanley & His Clinch Mountain Boys and many more. They have become regulars at the Mountain Medicine and Music Show, a live radio show up in Dahlonega, Georgia and have performed at WUGA's radio broadcast "Once In A Blue Moon" and "It's Friday" and were featured on the state wide public radio show "Georgia Gazette".

well, it's been a long and winding road, and an even longer time coming, but my debut CD, 'I Remember', is FINALLY HERE!!! YAY!!!!!
to celebrate, American HeartBeat Records(tm) has arranged a FREE DOWNLOAD of "Now Is The Time" in exchange for a valid email address. "Now Is The Time" is a brand new, upbeat song I wrote about hope for America's future, and the world.
we've got a bunch of exciting things planned to kick this whole thing off, and we need to get a better picture of who our friends are, so the FREE DOWNLOAD form will ask you a few questions, like, what's your country and nearest major city. it all takes maybe 15 seconds.
I enjoyed the tunes Solstice Sisters. Susan, have you recovered from the Shuck n' Suck experience yet? I enjoyed my short visit to Georgia and getting to meet you. I'd like to be able to sing more with you preferably on a back porch or some other relaxing setting someday. Best wishes 'til we meet again, Lightnin'
Good Job Solstice Sisters! Great Harmony. I like it and the Old Time Music. I play Dulcimer too! Check us out on You Tube http://youtube. com/ and type The Paynes Leonard & Testaview into the search box there. Better quality sound there. We love music and play a wide variety of musical instruments. Happy to have you as our FRIENDS. Keep up the great HARMONY! On The web site we have 12 Gospel songs that we wrote for sale but we do other music also. you can check out some videos of us playing different instruments. You can find them in my (Blog) but play them on You Tube. The quality is better. The Paynes Leonard & Testaview
Not far at all...I was wanting to come see y'all in Commerce on Saturday, but I've got a gig...so I figured I'd come down to the Melting Point next week. What time in Toccoa?
