That's right folks! We've got 4 brand new tracks from our current studio excursions uploaded for your listening pleasure. These are samples from our album that is currently underway with a release set in mind for 2009. The songs are 'In the Night' which we will also be releasing a video in late January/early Feb, 'Love in Anarchy', 'A Picture of Disgrace' and 'Window of Time'. We hope you enjoy them!

The worship of music. This is the meaning of Sonic Altar. Through the love of their medium, Sonic Altar soars above the crowd with a dazzling live show that has received critical acclaim from industry moguls. The band's goal is to bring the substance of heavy music back to its peak while giving a completely fresh live experience to anyone willing to be rocked.
The band has influences across all areas and finds it exciting to be able to draw from these influences to create a unique yet enticing sound. Sonic Altar work as a tight unit and are totally commited to their music. The band entertains fans at every opportunity, giving their absoloute all at every performance. The band is constantly exerting an energy that many people feel a connection to, and invite everyone to experience this with them.
In 2006, Sonic Altar took out the NZ final of the World Battle of the Bands leading them to the World Final in Hong Kong. In November 2006, Sonic Altar placed 3rd in the world in the competition.
2007 brought a lot more work on board. Sonic Altar released their first EP entitled 'What You've Been Waiting For' and filmed a music video which was soon to follow. In support the band embarked on a successful national tour in September through to early October '07.
2008 brings even more exciting times for Sonic Altar. In March the 6 piece played on the same bill as legendary rockers Ozzy Osbourne, KISS, Alice Cooper, Poison, Whitesnake and the latest shock rock sensation Lordi at Rock2Wgtn. For the event Sonic Altar released their second EP called 'My Name is Sin'.
Now leading into 2009 with a slightly altered line up and a more edgy sound to suit; the band are flying at full speed. With an album underway, a new music video completed waiting to be released and another in pre-production... It's a very exciting time indeed!
In the vast sea of unsigned bands, Sonic Altar stands out from the crowd with its unique and revitalizing sounds; they also believe they have what it takes to achieve our goal of breathing fresh air into a stagnating rock scene. Sweet, I've heard of both those places. Yeah, we havnt organised anything either because we were supposed to be recording, but expensives have become a problem. Studio does sound intense brother, thats mean!! Yeah fair call on the gig front aye. Once we get some new songs recorded, we shall embark on some out of town gigs, hopefully... Just need a CD to promote aye, its pissing me off not moving foward as quickly as I'd like. I hate beiong poor!!haha
