Steve Duffy has been singing the blues all his life. Performing and writing in many styles over the years. Some know him as The Duff, lead singer in Dublin band, The Love Pigs, through the late 90s, playing along side of Bjork, Radiohead and many others, seven years on, and a lot of up and downs later, Steve Duffy is back on the music scene with his EP "R.A.W", simply meaning rhythm and wailing.
Influences
All the great reggae masters like Toots, Jimmy Cliff, Bob. Soul legends like Curtis Mayfield, Patti Lebell, Aretha and Stevie. Also a big fan of blues innovators like Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy.
Lots of respect for Thom York, Jeff Buckley, John Martyn, Ben Harper, Carlos Vamos and Bob Brozeman. They got passion that inspires me every time. True influences are.
All the people I’ve worked with, lived with, grew up with, slept with, fought with, drank with, got paid with, and went broke with, hung on with and let go of. And still I find myself being influenced every single day.
