La band viene fondata da Peppone nel 2001 (unico membro della prima formazione rimasto nel gruppo), prendendo il nome STIGE dall'omonimo fiume infernale dantesco. La band nasce nella cittadina di Mottola (TA) e da sempre propone un death di matrice svedese (Death bloody Roll). Nel 2002 il primo demo "Discrimination Disgust" che porta una fortunata esibizione come opener degli Extrema. Svariati cambi di formazione fanno attendere il 2006 per una successiva demo "Vortex", in compenso moltissimi live vengono fatti durante i 4 anni di attesa. Come il fiume infernale l'anima degli Stige � sempre in movimento ed ennesimi sfortunati cambi di line-up portano all'attuale formazione con la quale il gruppo ha avuto l'opportunit� di suonare come opener per Exodus e Torture Squad. Fine 2009 esce il nostro nuovo lavoro "CHRISTMORPHOSIS"!!.. The band was founded in 2001 by Peppone ( the only former member left). The name "Stige" has been taken from the river in Dante's Inferno. The band was born in Mottola (TA) and all along offers Swedish Death Metal ("Death Bloody Roll"). In 2002 the first demo "Discrimination Disgust" leads to a successfull exhibition as opening act to Extrema. Several lineup changes keeps the band waiting until 2006 to release te second demo "Vortex", but during these 4 years lots of live shows were attended. Like the infernal river, Stige's soul is still flowing and yet other unfortunate lineup changes lead to the current one in which the band had the opportunity to perform as opener for Exodus and Torture Squad. Finally, at the end of 2009 our new work is relased: "CHRISTMORPHOSIS"!
