The Toronto Climate Campaign is a coalition of representatives from unions, environmental and social justice organizations, students, and citizens whose key initiative is to educate, motivate and mobilize a collective mass-movement to demand equitable and just solutions to global warming. Our goal is to effect an urgent shift by governments, businesses and institutions toward policies that aggressively promote sustainable living for all peoples and all species. Our immediate demand is Kyoto Now!
In the Fall of 2005, a number of environmental activists, anti-war activists and social justice campaigners in Toronto booked and filled a bus to attend the Climate Change Demonstrations in Dec. 40,000 people marched in Montreal to mark a watershed in the climate change movement, with youth, labour, and faith group contingents sending the message that immediate action is needed.
In the spring and the summer, meetings were held to pull together a new coalition, the Toronto Climate Chaos Coalition. On October 28th, there was a climate change banner (“War on Terror” = War on Terra) and on November 4th, about 200 people attended a rally at Nathan Phillips Square to demand action on Climate Change with speakers including Peter Tabuns, Ontario NDP MPP, Dave Martin from Greenpeace and Rohit Mehta from the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition. The participants marched to Metro Hall to participate in an Eco-Fair. Following up, they hosted a public meeting called "Climate Change: Canada Fails the Grade" with Gord Perks, PJ Partington and Kim Fry as speakers, helped build the March 11 2007 Rally for Kyoto in partnership with Canadians for Kyoto. We also helped build The Take Back Earth Day Rally, and later held a fundraiser, "Play for the Planet," with the help of some local Toronto musicians Belladonna the Virtuous, dysfunct and MC Mohammad Ali. On the August 19th weeked SCCT filled three chartered buses to Ottawa in order to protest the SPP with the likes of the Council of Canadians and Steelworkers of Toronto. We worked to build a broad coalition in Toronto which later became the Toronto Climate Campaign and ignited the flame for the D8 demonstrations all over Canada which were an enormous success. Coverage of D8 can be found in the links below, thanks to everyone who attended and helped to build D8! Reclaim Earth Day was built for the second time by a new coalition of people and the TCC, and grew significantly from the previous year, bringing lots of beautiful controversy in the media about the nature of the event (find the coverage in the blog). TCC helped work on assisting Dewan Afzal in promoting a walk against climate change, entitled THE SUNSHINE WALK, from Toronto to Ottawa. Following this was the second rally on the global day of action "D7" and a report back from the good people at the climate talks in poznan.
TCC exists to mobilize broad layers of people to take action to push our governments at all levels to act to reduce emissions and to connect activists in local environmental, labour and social justice campaigns to a broad movement demanding climate justice. We organize demonstrations and marches, but also community / school / faith group outreach meetings to educate people on the issue and to draw them into activity.

Spirit of the Winds, is a mother-drum surrounded by a circle of women. When the drum awakes, it vibrates and becomes the heart beat of Mother Earth. Spirit of the Winds, is a choir drum in unison. Its main intention is to heal, protect and invigorate those who hear it. Spirit of the Winds feeds on happiness and hope. I had a most unique experience that is very earthy in nature and proved to be a substantive approach of learning more about the availability of locally grown produce that garners the consumer many benefits toward health and the environment.
