Stopmakingme is a little trouble maker. He was in Bournemouth doing his thing as a very young dj supporting the likes of MSTRKRFT & Uffie - then he came up to London with talk of his love for clubs like Trash & Optimo and people thought he was just a scenester who could play a hot tune. Then when you talked to him he started referencing Paradise Garage and The Music Box, and when you heard him dj he somehow managed to play a massive house record next to a Talking Heads record, next to a techno tune, next to a pop record and it all sounded amazing. This vast musical knowledge and ability to create sets that defy genre and can work a crowd into sweaty frenzy gained him a residency at London institution Fabric.
Stopmakingme is now a regular at parties such as Bugged Out, East Village, The Lock Tavern and Durrr. He is also a prominent member of the Adventures In The Beetroot Field camp – fitting perfectly into their mantra of championing new and interesting music.
His kinetic mix of unwashed heavy electro, mutant new wave, huge disco, pulsing techno, updated post-punk and perfect pop has seen him constantly win over new fans, not least Simian Mobile Disco who have recently hand-picked him to join them on their Autumn tour. In the last year alone he has played with The Chemical Brothers, Tiga, Boy Noize, Aeroplane, Popof, Andrew Weatherall, Tim Sweeney, Filthy Dukes, Simian Mobile Disco...
Not content with just djing he co-promotes Kill Em All, one of the country's most innovative and forward thinking club nights. You can also catch him behind the counter at London independent record shop Pure Groove - recommending records to customers and curating their impressive record label.
Amidst all this, Stopmakingme has recently produced remixes for Little Boots, Patrick Wolf, Filthy Dukes, Sisters Of Transistors, Lemonade and We Have Band with many more on the way. He is currently in the studio working on his debut EP.
