TED LADWIG aka THOROUGH THEO. "....watch Teddy throw a tantrum when he tickles the Triton" Manning the KORG isn't for the timid, but Thorough Theo commands the keys like a janitor...or a field general, conquering melodies with finger-flailing fury. Should've went to Harlem to that party. Next time Teddy...we promise.
On Drums: Prince E-Roc (Eric Prince). The Prince of Percussion. While exploring the rain forests of Borneo on a USO tour, SubSoil discovered a strange hairy man banging on some buckets in perfect rythym. This guy was f'n crazy, a naked blur of motion bashing away like a lunatic. We rescued him from a forced labor camp and he's been playing drums for us ever since. He owes us HUGE.
On Guitar: Gerald Busy-Beard Pratt. The busiest beard in NY belongs to Gerry Pratt. A former Bail Bondsman, Gerry turned down a reality-show TV deal to play guitar with the HipHop/funk ensemble Subsoil. They gave the show to some mullet-head named Dog, or Pooch or something. Probably won't last after the pilot. Anyways, Busybeard earned his moniker after playing the "Runnin' With the Devil" guitar solo with only his beard.
Kyle Woo is the Soil's sax player. She brings a certain level of sax appeal. Her sax-ual orientation is up in the air, but she loves slobberin' reeds and making the horn squeel. Slick Billy Clint ain't got nothin on Kyle when it comes to Oral Sax. Our own lil' Lisa Simpson!
Katie Horn is the trumpet player. She has no photo at this moment, simply because her and Craig-O-Matic, the bassist, are from a tribe of indigenous peoples who believe that if you take their picture then you steal their soul. We are trying to snap them out of this backwards thinking, but it ain't easy. Hey, as primitive as they are, at least they know that Intelligent Design is NOT science. Silly fundamentalists! In any event, Katie plays the horn, and on occasion the glockenspiel. Craig slaps bass guitars and hookers.

SUBSOIL is a live-band-hip-hop act that seamlessly blends razor-sharp lyricism with thunderous funk and groove instrumentation. The band has been cultivating quite a following as of late, (an odd bunch...more on that later), and after seeing one live set by the band most spectators count themselves as fans immediately. By building an intimacy and genuine appreciation for their fans, SubSoil remains humble and playful, yet still hungry enough to stand defiantly against an industry known to chew up and defecate hip-hop acts faster than John Goodman's resting heartbeat. SubSoil aims to remain independent and self-sufficient, a burdgeoning enitity of creativity and progressive expression. In other words, SUBSOIL is ORGANIC HIP HOP FUSION.
SUBSOIL is currently striking a balance between playing shows and writing/recording their FIRST FULL LENGTH LP. After the four-track mayhem of BOWEL GROOVEMENTS, The Soil needed a new standard to raise in battle and rally the troops behind.
