Swing Station is owned by best friends Bradford Lee Folk, Kristy and Paul Burnett. Brad, retired touring musician, is our entertainment director; Kristy is our general manager; and Paul is our webmaster and jack of all trades.
We have a great staff, featuring Michelle Gates, Erin Youngberg (of Hit & Run and Uncle Earl fame), Lindsay Warren, Ken Weil, and Shelley Sanderson.
Our house band, the Happy Honkies, plays for free every Wednesday night. The usual line up includes Col. Brad Folk on lead guitar, Paul "Honky" Burnett on rhythm, Aaron "Slim" Youngberg on steel guitar, Erin Coats on bass, and John Kennedy on drums. Other Honkies include Billy Bastard on bass, Zach Boddicker, Rodney James, Jerry, Rich Carlsen, Julie Jones, Ron Lyman, Kristy Burnett, Clover, and Clark. See www.myspace.com/happyhonkies for a complete list.
We opened on September 17, 2005, with a rockin' concert by Rodney James & the Blue Flames. Since then, we have hosted bands from all over the country, including, but not limited to James King Band, Hank Thompson & the Brazos Valley Boys, Steep Canyon Rangers, Easy Bill & the Big Beat, Adrienne Young & Little Sadie, The Reals, Drag the River, Open Road, Bluegrass Patriots, Ethyl & the Regulars, Dalhart Imperials, Moot Davis with Pete Anderson, Town Mountain, and many others. Now we can add 18Wheeler, Corb Lund & the Hurtin' Albertans, the Derailers, Big Sandy again, and many more. There's alot of rockin' left to do! Thanks to all who have come by so far!

Hey Y'all, thanks for having us out last night...Mitchell and Tyler enjoyed celebrating their birthday's at the best little ol' Honky Tonk around, with the best bar tender in all the land! We look forward to coming out for Asleep at the Wheel, especially my Dad who will be flying in from Tennessee!!! Thanks a lot!
Hey LaPorters, We're off for a few days so we could've squeezed in a visit to the Swing Station but alas, we are on the west coast of Canada, and you are many mountains away. Soon...
just a little longer till I get to see y'all. And hand out your special presents... but first, I have to get some old-timey laundry done. You know, with a washboard.
can't wait to be inside you in a few weeks. oh yeah, it'll be gentle and loving, but it will still rock your world. Yay! I'm talking about our band playing inside your venue. It's funny because people may think of this as sexual innuendo. But it really isn't! That's a gas!
It would've been fun to have you guys here... one of these days you'll hafta make the trip to the Peg. We can't wait to come back to LaPorte... see you soon, Ry Perp
