MANAGEMENT FROM IDLE HANDS
please contact at..........
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
We met at university in Falmouth whilst taking pretty photographs and drawing pretty drawings. We were united by our love of cornish pasties and lack of success with women, so we started making music in the hope of getting some.
Hit le Floor live at Marrs Bar in worcester 23/10/08
We are also massive fans of this man and Tall Ships would simply not exist without his divine guidance and inspiration; he is the light that guides us.
We are all also egotistical, filthy, showy whores who desperately crave attention so if you want us to play anywhere or anything give us an email and we will do. Much love TS x x x
Review from a gig at the brixton windmill
TallShips, on later, are a band that elude any form of single recognised classification for music. Exhibiting elements of post rock, electronica, math and some residual jubilance throughout, the Falmouth trio, conversely, appear completely placated in their ambiguity, resigned to entertain each facet both methodically and simultaneously. What we hear, therefore, is a fervent conflict between the intricacies of a number of their facets and the unfettered vigour of the others. Flitting, innocent guitars and stuttering percussion are made to consort with the lean, binary belligerence of thick synth, facilitating a brazen affinity for sporadic instrumental intermissions and unabated, anarchic conclusions to many songs. Nonetheless, on other tracks, such as the requested Song About Sunshine, the very same bothersome synth, together with a zealous vocal curve, is the only guiding hand to tuneful excess, illustrating the song’s frivolity before relenting to a sedated musical escalade. In the end, the fact that TallShips, for all their ventures into countless styles and sounds, never misplace their brand of scrambled funk renders their set here unmistakeably noteworthy.
Live Review: These Monsters + Upsilon Acrux + Talons + Tall Ships + The Laze
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2009 AT 18:43
Venue: The Chameleon, Nottingham
Date: 02/10/2009
Saurus promotions put on yet another great gig at Nottingham's Chameleon with a five-strong line-up, for a Friday night to remember.
Taking the second slot tonight are Southerners, Tall Ships, who are tonight’s highlight for me. A three-piece who I only have a brief knowledge of prior to this gig, that being the one track which was featured on BSM’s To Let compilation, Words Are Pegs. Opening their set with that very song, a quirky instrumental track with pre-recorded vocals overlayed over the top, I thought this would be the formula for the rest of their material. But how pleasantly surprised I was when they continued to play. Never have I seen a band enjoying themselves so much playing music. It was completely fun to watch as they swapped instruments, banged on drums simultaneously and literally had a fucking good time. The bassist occasionally played a keyboard upside down, and at one point even had a guitar slung round his neck as well as his bass to swap between during a song. Their genre defying music was a pleasure to behold, and I seriously can’t recommend them enough. 10/10

Then came Tall Ships from Falmouth. They had a really interesting set up; drums at the back, two keyboards facing eachother splitting the stage in half, guitarist and bassist on each, with bits and pieces of a drumkit in front of the two keyboards, both of them having a smash at them in their songs. And their songs, as awesome as raptor jesus time travelling whilst riding a dolphin. Definately check them out, preferrably live. They were fantastic.

WE ARE ALSO MANAGED BY THE NICE GUYS AT IDLE HANDS!
All I'm seeing at the minute are a wide pair of eyes, the persons face squeamishly contorted into shock whilst hearing the words "ohmygod Tall Ships tore it up, they were insane".
SoOOOOOOO disappointed you didn't get to play last night. Sam said you blew a gasket or something near Oxford? It was great fun! Can't make 15th :( It is our Xmas do and I'll never hear the end of it if I miss it for a gig!
Katie forwarded me the link, absolutely nuts. The section where the wall crumbles and is rebuilt repeat repeat repeat is wonderful. Almost finished the Derrick C Brown book. I'm going to have to purchase the book for myself like selfish motherfucker.
