Sounds Like
Really organized anarchists playing lil' rock operas for minimalists with extremely short attention spans.
It's post, post, proto-punk...leopard skin pillbox hat garage (you forgot to close the door) folk for progressive new traditionalists.
We just try to keep it real...Dada.
The three-piece performs lil' rock operas for minimalists with extremely short attention spans. The band achieves this pretentious goal using unpretentious instruments like guitar, bass, and drums, as well as, the occasional keyboard, accordion, Theremin, etc. The band members many diverse influences inform the songs as things change rapidly between and within songs. Perhaps the common link in thank you, spaceman is a determination to be original.
The band was originally formed as a side project by members of the Charlotte bands Borghal Rantipole and Frocky Jack both of whom played in the Carolinas throughout the late 1990s- early 2000s. Founded after singer/guitarist Eric Cook (Frocky Jack, the Blots) and drummer Jimmy Poplin (Borghal Rantipole, Fat Cabbage) starting playing some misfit songs that hadn't found a home. Later Scott Thompson (who also performs with Mons Venera and was a former member of Borghal Rantipole & Ashley Robinson) added bass, keyboards, etc., as well as, his recording expertise. After some occasional shows the main bands each broke up but thank you, spaceman survived.
