A T T E N T I O N !
MUSICIANS, SINGERS, RAPPERS, INDUSTRY PERSONNEL, URBAN A&R Execs AND UP AND COMING ARTISTS WHO ARE TRYING TO “STEP UP THEIR GAME” THIS YEAR!
A NEW YEAR IS UPON US AND WHERE DO YOU PLAN TO BE?
Rappers – Are you STILL running around with CDs done by ‘your boy round the way’ that “makes beats” and tired of getting the SAME RESULTS?
Execs – You claim to be bombarded with CDs of recycled old rappers or even new ones with the same brand of overused producers, using tired samples, either slowed down or sped up? Artists who can only deliver ONE single yet, cannot sustain any interest throughout an entire CD?
Let’s face it……after all of the marketing, promotions, hype and plain old “B_ _ _ S_ _ T” that surrounds a record, it still gets down to one basic fact. You must have good PRODUCT or you’ll have nothing to SELL or even TALK about.
Out of the chaos comes clarity and Thatfemale Productions is looking to provide you with that sound. Supplying you with big, clear, banging production. Giving artists direction, focus and a sound that will make them capable of delivering a cavalcade of great solid material. Ensuring them with the springboard to develop and become real artists.
Thatfemale Productions has been involved with creating sounds for such artists as Jay-Z, LL Cool J, Meli’sa Morgan, Amel Larrieux, Chaka Khan and Angie Stone just to name a few. Check out the new releases from Biggie Smalls “Duets Remixed” and Meli’sa Morgan’s latest release “I Remember”.
Thatfemale Productions is bringing back the Pride, Passion and most importantly PRODUCT back into the game. We’re bringing “Big Boy” Tracks in the mix for artists who want to be “BIG”. Producer/Composer and Pianist, Lesette Wilson A.K.A ThatFemale
(All Instruments played by and all Songs Produced by ThatFemale Productions a.k.a Lesette Wilson )
You might have seen her playing keyboards on a tour . . . or heard her music and didn't realize it . . . but ThatFemale had been behind the scenes creating, producing, and performing music for a bevy of artists.
Along with being an accomplished pianist and keyboardist, Lesette is a Producer, arranger and songwriter. Her musical associations include songwriting and producing for Me’lisa Morgan and Tom Browne, as well as serving as musical director and keyboardist on concert tours for notables like Loose Ends, Najee, Billy Ocean, Stanley Turrentine, Bobbi Humphrey, Noel Pointer, Ray Gomez, Glenn Jones, Amel Larrieux and Chaka Khan. She has performed or written on albums for such artists as Al B. Sure, Najee, Phil Collins, Phillip Bailey, Jay-Z, Roy Ayers, LL Cool J and many more.
ThatFemale’s musical pilgrimage began at a very early age. Her parents discovered she could play anything by ear after hearing it only once or twice, often changing the notes to fit her own tastes (production in its earliest form). It was in her teens that she began a serious relationship with music. While attending the High School of Music and Art as a voice major, she became the protégé of Milton Hamilton, studying piano and everything from 16th century counterpoint to writing and arranging and conducting for a full orchestra. After a short stint at the prestigious Manhattan school of Music, she left to pursue her career in the real world.
Her love and respect for all types of music led her to becoming the consummate musician. As a touring and studio musician, That Female delivered awe-inspiring performances in everything from hip-hop and R&B to pop and jazz; from reggae and salsa to classical. It was her stint with Tom Browne (Funkin’ For Jamaica) where she served as arranger and keyboardist for his album and tour that led to her first album entitled “Now That I’ve got Your Attention”, which was well received in both the U.S. and England. The Album contained a large U.K. club/jazz fusion hit entitled “Caveman Boogie” which became a collector’s item and was recently re-released in the U.K on Soulbrother Records.
After serving as keyboardist on several major tours, Lesette was asked to serve as musical director for Chaka Khan’s live band. It was then that she teamed up with then back ground singer for Ms. Khan, Me’lisa Morgan. Together, they produced Me’lisa’s debut and sophomore albums and co-wrote the R&B hits, “Fool’s Paradise” and “Do You Still Love Me” with Lesette playing most of the instruments. Also, during this time, Lesette was urged by then Atlantic Record Executive, Sylvia Rhone to complete yet another solo project. She would do just that, with a noteworthy presentation of her many skills, a self-produced project, featuring a wide variety of jazz, R&B and hip-hop entitled “Unmasked”. Lesette also enlisted the help of one of her songwriting friends, Angie Stone.
“Being a female who isn’t necessarily a singer in this business is hard enough, “says Lesette, “but being a female producer who actually plays and performs all of the music was somehow mind-boggling to most within the industry. Even now folks ask me, usually more than once, did I actually do the tracks myself. I’ve had to actually bring folks to my studio and let them see with their own eyes. But it was a natural transitions for me” She states. “Arranging and producing are merely an aspect of the training and growth of a complete musician. It’s about being able to utilize your skills and talents to support yourself and survive within this industry.” Becoming frustrated with the male-dominated production end and its practices, ThatFemale continued to support herself by touring as a musical director and keyboardist.
Lesette embarked upon a two-year tour of South America and the Dominican Republic as keyboardist for the Latin/hip-hop/meringue group, Proyecto Uno. Upon returning to the U.S she started working again in the studio, doing remises as a co-producer/keyboardist on records for Cher, the London based group, Hepburn, Groove Theory and various artists.
While performing at New York’s “Soul Café” Lesette was approached by Carl Griffin, President of N-Coded Music who encouraged her to record again. The result was “Livin’ in the Zone”, an eclectic collection of contemporary jazz, funk and R&B and included talented new comers Shelene Thomas and J. Phoenix.
After playing various jazz festivals and clubs in the U.S and the U.K. Lesette returned to the U.S and began working in the studio, preparing what would be her next project simply titled “the Piano Player”. It was during this time that her calling for production began once again to gain new attention.
While working on the pre-production for her project, ThatFemale would meet and team up with Dexter Ferrari of Dex-Flex Management. Dexter, coming form a background in business and management recognized Lesette’s talent and ability to put together any style of music. He also saw in this era of “sample-based” production that Lesette made music simply based on her own vast experience. “Her love, discipline, and natural ability is captivating, besides her tracks are HOT!!!” Says Dexter “Real music performed by a “One-woman band” at a time where quality and originality can be somewhat scarce is a great thing REGARDLESS of gender!”
It was then that Dexter persuaded Lesette to extend her love of hip-hop, funk and R&B to include writing and producing for R&B, pop and rap acts, who wanted and NEED more of a full, well-rounded musical/technical approach to making their music. Lesette wrote, arranged and compiled a series of tracks in the form of “snippets” and the demand began. She is now in the process of writing and producing for several projects.
They may sometimes forget the name, but they ALWAYS say, “You know . . . THAT FEMALE . . . that writes, produces and plays her ass off!!!

He took to the streets Shouting Pumping his fist in the air A failed comedian Who's one and only joke had just gotten him curious stares The punch line stuck in his mind He'd gone completely blind With insanity He repeated it endlessly Hoping to find a laugh People witnessing his melt down Gained courage And followed Letting out all of their pent up sorrows Eventually He went down in history As the brave man who came out of nowhere To save tomorrow
With his rallying cry
"Bring back Big Fat Hope"
In other words May even your mistakes work out for you fabulously Have an unexpectedly successful rest of the week
Today I tried to get away from the madness of the city Went to a farm to relax Ran across a loud mouth hip hop cow That called itself
"Legend Dairy"
I'll admit, it could milk a beat And it's words flowed like butter But it's catch phrases "Word to the Udders" And "Moo Over!!!" Came up way too often And The chips he was eating Were suspect, at best While praising his minister, Pastor Eyes He deep branded a tattoo Right before my eyes
Talking about things that "could be Found up In the great round up" His dancer circling around us
I figured I needed to U-Tube These dudes because Who'd believe me?
When his D.J., Udder Lee Closed my laptop and said "Take it easy There is only one brand of computer you can use That will get you through the gateway Ain't that right, 'Mac'?" He motioned to his yes cow knowing full well what he would say
So, I decided to just forget about the whole crazy incident And ask you How was your day?
hey, just stopping by to say hi - hope you're doing well. I've got a new video up on my page at the moment, as well as my new single, The Waiting. If you get a minute, I'd love to know what you think. Just spreading some love your way - Thanks and catch you soon! Kevin
When she goes swimming She's been known to beach whales And that'll be your ending If you go following that tail Picture perfect She works it Is she worth it? She'll jerk ya Baby's only reel on the surface
In a past life that woman was a hammerhead shark The only thing changed is her form And that sexy bluffing voice Make sure you leave your headlights on She likes hunting in the dark Know that you're better off Dread Getting your locks caught in a fan Then letting her run her fingers Through your hair, man Ban the thought She's picture perfect She works it Is she worth it? She'll jerk ya Baby's only reel on the surface
Team Peace has her listed as a major cause Of waves on the sea Her temper's the perfect storm When she speaks, men don't think Just rush who ever she says causes her harm Her head games are too... Deep They'll crush ya before you get to the bottom of her See? She's picture perfect She works it Is she worth it? She'll jerk ya Baby's only reel on the surface

Would you send a kiss to save the world To keep someone, maybe you, from dying in it?
Would you send a kiss To save your favorite girl?
What would you kiss that you would put on this list?
We all think we know what we are fighting for Until something hurts us Then generations later Still asking ourselves Was it worth it Seem to go through the same thing We can wake up from a bad dream With screams Or when we reach for a kiss For that we open our eyes And say I want more of this And we go through that day Longing for that kiss Could you imagine saving the world With a simple kiss list?
I kiss my pen And it bleeds So that maybe We wont be leaves Blown away In a win-less storm
I kiss my friend's bliss And they say they love me Year after year of this Loyalty Inspired by spirit kiss
Would you send a kiss to save your favorite video game?
You name What would make you aim your lips And send a kiss
Hendrix kissed the sky Would you kiss the child in you You hide the cries And truly say I'll be OK Today I'll make myself my own baby And kiss me bliss 'Til no pain can stay
And once I'm entrenched In the practice of this I'll see clearly What I love And put that on my kiss list
I once blew a kiss to hate And watched hate become confused And wait
What is on your wish list? That you consent to bliss kiss? A kiss for your business? For your dreams? For your favorite sports team? Sports hero? Your favorite car? I'm blowing you a bliss kiss So maybe you'll put something On your wish list Hoping maybe we'll build up enough bliss To offset all war With a simple kiss
Call me a fool But some things are worth writing for
