the alaska none is the solo music making project of james alaska. works consist of field recordings made in new york, london and calcutta blended with sparse textures and lo-fi degraded and recontextualised samples from vinyl and tape. james alaska is also half of mrtvol, (with tristan shorr / the last man) who compose for dance, performance and film, a member of the 'sound through' collective of sound artists and one third of meccano-core sonic voyagers vlk (with tom mudd and tristan shorr).
