    I listen almost exclusively to acid jazz, ambient groove, and chilly rhythms when I'm writing. I like Baby Mammoth, Afterlife, Zero 7, and Audio Lotion. When I'm not writing I listen to all sorts of stuff, from AC/DC, to Foo Fighters, to Goo Goo Dolls, to Gershwin, to John Prine and John Hiatt. Lately I've been listening to Cake, Eric Satee, and Debussy.

  • Movies

    I like cheesy horror movies and big splashy movies where stuff gets blown up. I also like movies where the dialogue is actually carefully crafted and almost play-like. Whit Stillman's Barcelona comes to mind. My all time favorite movie is Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

  • Television

    Most of the shows I like get cancelled. Right now I'm liking The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Reaper, Life, and House, so don't get attached to any of those.

  • Books

    I like funny books above all, but there just aren't that many truely funny books. Lately I've been reading Mil Millington and Bill Bryson for humor, John Connelly for suspense, and Haruki Murakami because he's craaaaaaaaaazy. My favorite book is Cannery Row by John Steinbeck.

  • Heroes

    Mark Twain, Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Robbins, Douglas Adams, John Steinbeck, and big Bill Shakespeare.

    Dear Mr. Moore,
    I am reading Bloodsucking Fiends yet again. thank you for writing that. That one and You Suck are permanently on my beside table in case of literary emergency.
    Also, I was very disappointed to have missed you when you had a signing in Petaluma. You should reallly come back up north sometime again.. because who doesnt like the wine country? I was actuall in san francisco when you did a signing a few weeks ago some where down there.. but i was stuck in the hospital the whole time :(.
    Anyway, I really just wanted to say Hi, Thanks, and see you later. and now that I've said it, I'll get back to...life.

    Hi Author Guy,
    Why not start a match making site for the extremely funny.  You could turn around the S. F. bay area's current state of Blah by hooking up people with the same weird sense of humor.  I would do it myself but you already have the data base of fans. Although some are clearly stalkers, oh the pain of popularity, I know you must have some that would find happiness with each other.  So, what do you say?
