"It is a joy to host the House of Blues Radio Hour because I get to discover new bands to play on the air and to engage for the stages at our clubs. The Big Pill is my new favorite emerging group. I haven¹t heard a sound this funky, fat and varied for many years. Their material and their patented mixed method of delivery is truly impressive. All of us at House of Blues look forward to an ongoing professional relationship with The Big Pill and we have no doubt that their success will be huge."
- Dan Aykroyd aka Elwood Blues

The Big Pill, a seven piece band with a unique, eclectic sound that mixes various types of music to create something all its own, plays agressive lounge or Big Band Neo Funk. One of the best live bands in Southern California, The Big Pill hails from Pasadena (home of the Rose Bowl). Their unified rhythm hybrid of musical styles begins with an experienced out front drummer "All day" Joey K. singing lead vocals; guitarist "Slick" Nick Lewis; bassist/vocalist Corey "C-money" McCormick; Percussionist/vocalist Gabe " Chankla Funk" Velasquez. The three piece horn section or "Tall Section"; saxophonist "Killa" Jake Wilson, trombonist Chase "The Captain" Bland, and barritone saxophonist Derek "D-Sharp" Ludwig. The Big Pill is able to take seven different flavors and roll them all into one fat sound. LA Times Weekend Calendar Editor, Kevin Bronson refers to them as "genre mashers".
Hope you had some great gigs this weekend. Sorry I couldn't make it. It was in the plans but plans didn't workout. Looks by the interview you guys will probably be having some gigs coming up. Can't wait for the next one.
Sorry I didn't make it out this weekend. I'm totally bumming on it. Friday night I got ill and had to deal with it all day Saturday. End ended up singing a concert on an empty stomach and almost passing out on stage.
Anyway, I'm hoping you'll have another reunion soon. In the meantime I'll have to keep listening on my ipod at the gym.
