the breakups hail from Hollywoodland, California. Their classic pop sensibility
and adventurous arrangements have them working in the same musical milieu as other
modern pop staples like The Shins, Fountains of Wayne, Elliott Smith, Nada Surf,
Wilco, and Michael Penn. Combine those modern ideas with a love for the classic sound
of Emitt Rhodes, The Clash, The Zombies, and a certain "B" band from Liverpool and you have the breakups special brand of "powerless pop."
Great show Saturday night at Spaceland. Had never heard you guys before that. You've got a definite Teenage Fanclub thing going, that I love. I think the second song was my favorite of the set.
yeah, I know. I figured I would take advantage of the 10 song player and give all those die hard EG fans out there the chance to hear the songs. You know, those few fans that are lingering somewhere out there in the world.
I still like that song a bit, or at least the idea of what the song was to be. It's mainly nostalgic for me. Should I take it down though? Does it leave you unsettled?
