We’ve made lots of friends and had a busy year. We earned first place in South Australia for 2009’s National Campus Band Competition. Our single, Trickster, was featured in the film Coffin Rock, and was also one of the 100 most played songs on local radio for 2009. Brisbane's Rave Magazine quizzed us about our genre juggling. Our song Favourite Shade reached number 1 on the Unearthed pop chart. And Triple J’s Dom Alessio said he loves our duelling vocals. .. They might be duelling because we live in each other’s pockets, especially after returning safe from our Rudd-funded whirlwind east-coast tour. We’ve been working hard recording (and spilling cups of tea) in the studio of the continually amazing Matt Hills. And all of this work has now manifested in our self titled debut EP. .. We’re not perfect. We can’t nail grant applications, we’re too introverted, we’re not super attractive, and we can’t write impressive bios. But we like to make big plans. We want to see and play to the world. We want to let our lives be about this thing we’re creating... .. We are The British Robots. We write pop songs. We trade instruments on stage. We’re about melodies and harmonies in smallish rooms with green tea.
We've been together for nearly three years now, living and playing around Adelaide. We’ve made lots of friends and had a busy year. We earned first place in South Australia for 2009’s National Campus Band Competition.
