   About The Delilahs, MPLS
1991 saw Aaron and Doug form a unique bond during the first days of spring training. After a round in the batting cage, they sat down and wrote a song together, "The Ball is Round." Later that day, they met up with Thomas and Tom and decided to go get some lunch. They played the new songs for the new guys and decided to put together a new band. Later on, they got a new bass player, Wally. New bass player in hand, they played some gigs, recorded some CDs, and broke a number of long-standing records in the field of animal husbandry. Today, the band plays.

But cereal, forks....

The Delilahs were a major part of the great Minneapolis music scene of the 1990s. Voted by the Minnesota Music Academy as Best New Band of 1993, and Best Pop Band of 1994, the Delilahs were one of the Midwest's top live rock and roll bands. With original songs that offered a mix of rock and folk, the Delilahs drew praise from fans and critics for their thoughtful lyrics and creative, fast-paced instrumental attack. October Records signed the Delilahs to a three-record deal in 1994. It was in the fall of that year that the Delilahs' self-titled first album was released. In 1995, the band was cited by major publications Billboard, Rolling Stone, and The New York Times as one of the country's best upcoming groups. The fall of 1995 saw the release of the bands' second collection of songs, Dying to Build a Bridge. The band toured heavily during this period, playing the Bottom Line in New York City, the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas, and dozens of midwest bars, clubs, and colleges. In July of 1996, five years after their beginning, the band dis-banded and the individual members were re-released back into the wild. In 2007 The band were offered a couple oif shows in the Minneapolis area which were accepted, marking the re-birth of a musical presence.

Thanks for the add and reply. It took me a couple years to rediscover your band. Still listening to the old Cedar Waxwings and saw some good shows at 400 Bar and Uptown Bar & Grill

Please, please, please play 'Beats The Hell Out Of Me' on Saturday. I've put it on most of my mix CD's over the last ten years and I played it on the radio today! I've been plugging this reunion since I heard the good news! : )

Sadly, I can't be there. Why did you plan this on my parent's 40th Anniversary? Call first next time.
