Sounds Like
A finely blended mix of braised (slow) blues, roasted originals, smoked soul, fried funk, and anything to feed your appetite for gettin down.
This intrinsically sick quartet was born the summer of 2003 when Mike D called a melding of musical minds to perform in the Reingold Beer Tent at the great NY State Fair. Under a myriad of temporary names (Deacon Blue, Hot Phat, Cloud Nine and others not worthy of inclusion in the footnotes of even the most hard core fan's biography), Mike, Brendon, Pete and Liz gigged relentlessly for four shows until they finally settled on the most average of names (alluding to the incendiary rock variety of their dominance): The Delinquents.
Contrary to the reckless abandon suggested by their band title, The Delinquents are a far cry from martial law and unrest. Laid back since their inception, a boiling broth of both smooth and twangy blues riffs, urban bass licks and relentless kick drumming simmer in a boiling cauldron of The Delinquent's divide, only augmented by the subtle and soulful serenade of Delaney's smooth and shining vocals, presenting the Delinquents as the "go-to guy" in the clutch. If the game is on the line, you want The Delinquents shooting the free throws.
