From the ashes of the Butchies (Melissa York) and Gerty! (Shirlé Hale and David K) comes the dark, drum machine-rocking anthems of Ex-Members. Thumping beat-maker Melissa York creates the frame for David K's angular post-punk guitar sounds that stretch across to give Shirlé Hale's smoky vocals and pounding bass a surface to create a ferocious electro-rock party vibe.
Their thrilling debut EP, "xoex_ep" includes three original chunky, sexy, buzzed-up songs that will stand up against the best party songs this summer.
"It's a dance-rock party that would fit in nicely between LeTigre and the Gossip, only Hale's low, smoky vocals are more like Chrissie Hynde..."

I have a confession to make. We've been superficial Myspace friends for a while now, but it was only today that I actually listened to your songs. All I can say is, gosh, wow, I like them--a lot. Keep bringing the rock...er, I mean electro-pop. K?
