Dublin based four piece The Gandhis are to release their debut album on indie label 1969 Records nationwide on October 9th.
They released their debut single 'Zaza' in early 2008. It reached number one on the Downloadmusic.ie chart and received great reviews and widespread radio play across the country.
On the back a sold out Radio City gig they were signed to Dublin Indie - label 1969 records. They followed Zaza with the single "Don't you want to be loved by me" ("a bittersweet, perfectly formed morsel of endearing power pop that's instantly appealing" Hot Press) and B-Side "Goodbye Cruel Appendix" in November 2008 with CD copies of the single available in Tower Records, Wicklow Street.
This summer, they released their third single "Guy Like Me" to a packed Whelans main venue and followed it up with an appearance on RTE's Miriam O' Callaghan Show.
Having cut their teeth live supporting the likes of Republic of Loose, Fight Like Apes, Ham Sandwich and Crayonsmith , The Gandhis are ("ones to watch as the year progresses" Hot Press), ("a sweet delight" Evening Herald), ("a great night out is always guaranteed at their gigs" News Of The World), ("a band who are sure to draw attention in the coming year" Frequency Ireland).
