Music can mean many different things to many different people. For some, music provides the underscore to their lives, always in the background, accompanying their day-to-day activities, but rarely in the forefront. For others, music is the soundtrack of their lives, often out in front of everything, matching the pulse and mood of their current state. For others still, music is an art, a science, something to be analyzed. San Luis Obispo County’s own, The JD Project, provides the style of music that works perfect for all three instances. Their driving blend of rock, blues, soul, and country provides a pulse that is great for any atmosphere. It moves you to tap your feet, dance and sing along…basically have a great time. The lyrics and musicianship will impress even the most discerning of listeners. Their live performances are always electrifying and witty, while maintaining a professional on-stage attitude. All in all, The JD Project is a great band for any event where dancing and sharing good times with friends and family are at the top of the list.
The JD Project is comprised of former members from San Luis Obispo’s national touring band Itchy McGuirk . These veteran band members have performed throughout the United States and have headlined some of the nation’s top musical venues, including; Slim’s, The Great American Music Hall, The Belly Up, The Last Day Saloon, Maritime Hall, Pier 23 and many more while also performing at major events e.g. the grand opening and 10th anniversary of the Christopher Cohan Performing Arts Center, The California Mid State Fair, Polypalooza, Wildflower Triathlon, Avila Beach Music Festivals, San Luis Obispo’s Concerts in the Plaza, The Morro Bay Harbor Festival and many other major events throughout the country. During their musical careers, the members of The JD Project have maintained San Luis Obispo County as their home base and take great pride in being members of our Central Coast community.
